The first thing to do is to Sign Up! It is suggested that a new player plays on the War of Ages server. It is slower paced than the rest and usually has more players at any given time. You'll also be able to find more help there - hopefully! In addition, it has a set of Guidelines designed to prevent bloodthirsty wars and kills which might put off a newer player. These are not mandatory, but most players follow them anyway.
In order to sign up, you will have to provide a name and valid email address. The administration respects your privacy, and your e-mail will not be public unless you allow it. Your name will NEVER be public. If you do feel uncomfortable providing your real name over the internet, you may provide an alias. However, you must remember it. A valid email is a must - you will receive your password there. Your username will also not be visible. Choose something that you're sure you'll remember - there is no way to recover it!
Next, choose a Warband Name. We strongly suggest you choose something with a modicum of creativity. For example, "The Empire of Daru" instead of "j0ker31337". The Warband name is completely superficial, but a creative name will tend to earn you more respect. Follow the same general rule with your In-Game Name - think of it as the name of your lead general or ruler. "Empress Maude" is far superior to "omg1".
The most important part of signing up is choosing your race. Simply put, it will set the course for the life of your account. You need to select it based on your playing style - you can read more about different strategies in another section. If you do not wish to read any more right now, simply select Mole. The Mole race is not stellar for an aggressive player, but it does provide a basic starting point. This tutorial covers mostly the finer points of constructing an empire, and not of attacking another.
Different locations will supply different bonuses. For now, select Europe - it will give you a bonus to scouting.

If, at any time, you find yourself in a bind of some sort, simply click the link titled "Forums" and you will be whisked away to a place where help is at hand and the residents are friendly. Simply go to the forum titled "Help". You may ask any questions there anonymously, but we would appreciate if you take the time to register on our forums.
This introduction should equip you with the basic knowledge to participate in the world of Frost and Flame. Do not hesitate to ask for help at any time! We recommend that you read any available articles in the Game Guide, as they can give valuable strategic insights. But, for now, feel free to go and experiment.
