It'd spell destruction for the Korean Peninsula pretty sure. Not that they want to do it. All this missile thing is just diplomatic maneuvring.

*Nod* Sure wish they'd stop. This is not the best way to get the US or anyone to talk to you. It's more likely to get sanctions leveled against you, or worse yet, attacked.

Also, Korea is a peninsula.

Artillery... And lots of it. Sure it would be promptly turned to scrap metal by the South Korean and United States Air Force and army, but it would still be able to effectively whipe out the capital. Of course, a formation of B1's would do the same to North Korean capital faily quickly as well... All assumeing that this doesn't start a regional nuclear war...

Yeah, I know, and they don't get all horribly stuck in one place like they used too over on the RWL forums. Mainly cause we don't have people like John and Juby who sit there and won't ever comprimise or change there minds. Or people like Raine(Vengerak) who seems to have a problem with me, so he will take my statements out of context, or make periodic salvoes after sometimes days while he carefully prepares his post. (Can you tell that he annoys me a bit? *laughs*)

No prob though. And I really enjoy these discussions.

Nah, it takes awhile to reduce a city with arty. Doesn't matter how much you have. The Russians and Americans and English shelled and bombed the bejesus out of Berlin for quite awhile, and most of the buildings were still standing. I mean they were roofless and had large chunks missing, but they weren't leveled. It's really just a matter of space . A 155mm shell only has a blast radius of a 10 yards or so. Cities are miles across. I'm not saying Seoul wouldn't get pounded, cause it would, but the N. Korean guns would be destroyed before they had time(days of shelling) to really destroy the city. Same thing is somewhat true for bombing a city, cept bombs use alot more explosive, so they have a much larger blast radius. Still it would take more that one raid to level Pyongang. And yeah.. if the Koreans use nukes.. no more North Korea. A few large nuclear warheads, say the in the 25 megaton range, and well, you've jsut incinerated pretty much the whole country. The question would, be, what would the Chinese do?

There's still only so much explosive you can pack into an artillery shell. The biggest burst they've gotten from any shell still only had a blast radius of about 100 yards, and that was from a battleship gun.

You mean one of our ballistic missile subs? The Ohio class actually holds 24 nuclear missiles. But I'm not to enthusiatic about being the first person to shoot off nukes and maybe start WW3.
