About 2 weeks ago I heard my cousin was in town to see some more specialists. Since he lives out of the country I don’t get to see him often. I knew he had been fighting skin cancer for many years and thought I should take the chance to see him so I invited him out to a nice restaurant. On the way to the restaurant I heard from my mother that she had just heard that the doctor had just told my cousin that there was no more use in any treatments as nothing could help him any more. What devastating news he had been given that day. I really did not expect him to show up, but he did. He walked in all frail from his body eating itself from the insides out, the parts of his face that did not have bandages on looked like he had leprosy, making me wonder how bad the covered parts were. I was thinking that I would be crying with him that night over the news he had gotten. But when he saw me his smile covered his face and I got a big hug. During dinner he laughed and told jokes to the point that he had me rolling out of my chair.

I got the news tonight, my cousin has died. But he has showed me the importance of life. Even on the day he received the worst news anyone could get, he enjoyed every breath he took as I hear he enjoyed the last breath he would ever take.

An interesting point is that, dislike Wolf Bite as much as I will, he has done much to herd the unruly bunch at RWL into a more respectable community. Iron fist in a velvet glove you might say.

I'm very sorry to hear that too.

Although my father never entered into the worst stages of the disease, he had plenty of hardship, but bore it with the greatest human dignity. He comforted my mother and I, not the other way around.
