What I hate about the RWL attack system is its complexity...

To be honest I never quite got the RWL attack system... But I think that the one we are discussing is rather straight forward and easy to pick up.

We could also add a tutorial to the game for anyone who needs to learn the new system.

How would we know Beatles, unless we tried it out?

You never know until you try it, but it seems like it's just going to make it even easier to attack someone. The suggestions so far would in my opinion greatly strengthen the already solid farming strat. Cashing and maging would also benefit as well but not alot of people do those.

The reason those strats would be strengthened is because fewer troops would be needed to crack. Being able to run with fewer troops greatly increases their incomes. There's no harm in trying but I'm a bit skeptical about it.

Any drastic changes should take time to implement.

What would you do to make it harder to crack, Nuke?

Dunno man. I was trying to think of an alternate solution when I posted that but couldn't come up with anything.

The basic concept is dividing an empires defenses up into quarters which is just going to make it easier. There may very well be a good solution but right now I just can't think of it. If I do I'll post it.

It seems like if you just quadrupled the defensive powers of everything it would take care of the problem.

That would work, and very easy to do (I know how to now!).

Err, sorry about the outburst..

OK so we divide empire into quarters and you have to have your troops in one section to properly defend it, then we quadruple the defense of all units. So in the end you just evenly distribute your forces across all 4 sections of your empire and now you need the exact same amount of forces as before to attack. That seems like we're not really doing anything but adding a couple menus to select when attacking.

For those who have 25% all.
For those else, it'd be too easy to take out an unfair amount of some of their buildings. And they'd be at some disadvantage.
Unless it were hidden, which would be fun. (As in, you don't have a way to know the composition of the area you hit, and could be hitting all guards when aiming for all huts.)
That'd be fun on a special server.
Back. I think.

Here are a couple more add-ons to add to the pile.

Add-on #1 when one section of the empire is punctured it only effects the land in that area; but when you gain land it is automatically distributed to balence the sections of the empire.

Add-on #2 when one section of the empire is destroyed (taken down to 0 land) all of the troops and hawks on it would also die.

So... are we as a group seriously contemplating making this change?
Or is it just something fun to think about?

The latter, as far as I'm concerned.

More fair would be a sort of desertion, like either the building overfill or no cash/food sort.

If we could somehow (however improbable) get another coder to make the said changes would you set up a server for it next to the others?

.... How about you Sir Devari? :)

Makes sense... How about we increase the desertion rate of the troops compared to the no cash/food type by x2 and leave the hawks as is?
