The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Yes, but:
* Romance was introduced between Steed and Mrs. Peel
* Mrs. Peel's independence was compromised
* Style was completely missing
* Coherency was abandoned
* Dialogue was apparently terrible
* Mrs. Thurman is ugly

About the one good thing you can say for the film is that Steed had a bowler hat.

I agree with all those points except about Uma being ugly. She's not ugly. Her nose is ugly. And large.

The woman on the poster on the Wiki page is ugly, even if the actress usually isn't. Not that I know the actress, so maybe she really is ugly.

Precisely. Ugly as a piece of rotting cheese. Beauty-wise*, Diana Rigg was divine, Uma Thurman is diabolical.

* Although Macnee also said she was "an angel to work with".

Oh come on, Uma isn't THAT bad. I suppose it all depends on your standards really. Though Rigg is definitely better looking.

I'd have to guess standards. Then again it might have to do with the fact that Rigg's costume is stylish and elegant, and Uma's is just bad. IMHO, as usual.
