Note, I played two subsequent games (4th and 5th) and was unable to top that score, so I'd be happy to see if anyone meets with more success.

After a subsequent experiment, I noticed in this game, researching rail travel or nuclear fusion/fission probably isn't worth it.

I reached 96-38-70 last night, which I think is as good as I am going to get. I might have boosted the economy a few percentage points at the expense of the popularity, but I didn't realise that in time. Pics later (this was on a no-internet computer, so I have to transfer it by USB later).
