I have updated your personal properties above...you can update your previous post from that. (It will remove my comments anyway). I obviously cannot edit your post, so you will have to.
I edited the post, as per your rewrite, it sounded fine to me. Mine was a little over long.
That is the beauty of working the game this way...you can desribe people or items any time you want to. It's more like writing a story than playing a game. Introduce items as you have time and think of them. You may also keep a few quiet for surprises...it makes it more interesting for me.
Oh, good then, I'll make sure to make a list of everything I have next time I see my character sheet, and I can give the info to you when I feel the time is right. Most of it will be right up front, as that's my preferred method, but I might spring a few surprises on you.
Thanks for bringing in a clan...that gives me a source for more characters to enter the game. I don't think the king will summon any more...
You're welcome. I'm rather relying on you, as GM to give me hints about when I should have Helm arrive at the king's court. He'll be ready to go as soon as he gets his mission, so it should be when everyone else is ready to go as well.
We have two characters left to meet outside...one is a troll-warrior I will introduce. The second is forthcoming...as soon as I can get another writer (not to name any names, TS laugh.gif ) to get off his rear an write.
Lawl. Alrighty then. I'll see if anything comes to me for a little more exposition on Helm. Or whatever you need.

I will write a post detailing your interview with the king...as you will meet Timon at that point, I can write it from his perspective...you can elaborate if you would like...

I am in the process of composing a few tidbits of necessary information (aka. trivia) about the game world that will prove helpful to our future play. You will notice several departurs from the typical rulebooks, but I like to keep things more interesting than they do...

Ok then, I probably will.

OK, sounds good, I look forward to hearing about it. Quick question, just curiosity, what's the approximate level of the other characters in the game right now?

Oh, forgot to mention, as a Half-Ogre, Helm is just barely a medium sized creature. He's on the upper end of the range, between 7 and 8 feet tall. The troll is bigger than he is, but not by much, compared to the rest of the group.

Exactly

Were he a full ogre, this would not be the case...

Timon is approx. level 15 (NPC). He is a character I have used before, though he is much younger in this story(150). I started him last time around 850 years old. He is the uncle of Topaz, a character I invented in another post-based game.

D'argash's (aka. Topaz's grandfather) level is a question I have not solved exactly yet. I intended to start him around level 5 or so. However he has just (in his history) killed several high-level trolls and, althouth he did not intend to make these kills, the xp still count. This is my problem, though as he is an NPC as well

Dryn Cresh (pc) is a level 6 dwarf. (although as I have just proceeded to make him look like a drunken fool and no one may want to play him now lol)

The other characters are still forthcoming..

Heh, yep, just making things clear, once again. I really am not trying to impugn your knowledge, I'm just making sure we're both on the same page.

OK, cool. Ah hah, so that's where your forum name came from, I was kinda half-wondering.

If it were me, I'd have D'argash be somewhere between 8 and 10. That would fit his history. I don't imagine the trolls he killed are going to be much higher than that.

Anyway, thanks for satisfying my curiosity. If you still need a player for Dryn, I'll do it, dwarves are fun to play, drunken ones all the more so.

I was just making a comment...that's what I started this page for. We can discuss things like this here out of character so that we do not interrupt the flow of the story. I am a trivia-holic so you will probably grow tired of my similar comments quite quickly.

I agree. Despite his youth (he is 22) he starts the game with level 8 because of his high level of training (the life of a prince) and his recent experience. Previous training does does not directly translate into xp, but when the character gets into a battle, the training can cause the points to add up quickly.

Sometimes I need a little time to think these things out.

That's fine. You can play him.

FYI Tetigustus has a couple of characters he wants to introduce, but he is not able to squeeze it into his schedule right now. (I'm not sure how I am managing it). I am going to start introducing his characters though as he and I can discuss stats offline (we work together).

Alright then. Heh, we're both trivia-holics, so this should be fun.

Cool, I will start playing him then.

I look forward to TS joining if and when he can. I know what a busy schedule is like. Is the thief one of his characters?

No, the thief is not T's character...I'm hoping to perk someone else's interest.

His characters are an Elven princess and her Hag/Troll (male) bodyguard...(yes i know that is very confusing, but it is his idea not mine. I must admit, it has been growing on me for a while.)

I will get the info for the characters over the weekend so I can post it Monday.

Clyaette has a charisma of 20+. This gives her a charm factor when she enters a room. All who see her must roll a save against charm. Timon missed his roll (lol).

Do not be too disappointed when you see Timon's reaction to Helm's presence. Timon is in his position for his brains and charisma (not to mention the king trusts him however foolishly), not his strength. He has commanded soldiers far beyond Helm's level. Rank does not always follow merit. Besides Timon is usually very hard to excite (unless charmed).

Also, Helm is not nearly as pretty as Clyaette (lol).

*Blink* This is aD&D, you can't have 20+ stats as a PC unless you are a god. The stats I gave for Helm are based on aD&D stats, where 19 is just about the highest you can get without being a god. If that is changed, I'm going to have to redo Helm's stats. Or is that strength only?

OK, understood about that, but what the heck is a 15th level character, NPC or PC doing commanding epic level characters? Max level is 20 for all classes, anything beyond is epic level. Level 20 characters, as I'm sure you know, are living legends, and anyone is going to be impressed upon meeting one. Even Timon. He would certainly know who Helm was, and have more of a response than "I've met his kind before". Shoot, the king's lucky Helm even responded to his summons.

I wasn't actually expecting him to faint, but Helm is half expecting it, because he is a half-ogre, and a barbarian, and is expecting the effeminate elven city man who almost fainted at the sight of a girl to be even more impressed with him.
Also, Helm is not nearly as pretty as Clyaette (lol).

Yes, I know. Unfortuneatly I am working with a character already heavily modified by another DM (like, 20 years ago). I have yet to see the stat sheet so I am treading water on the stats until that time (some things I have to see to believe). From what I understand this is a level 24 character (I think I may down that slightly).

In short, bear with me...I will mod the character when I see the stats to know what I am working with.

Another thing to remember, in aD&D, the DM is god. The rulebooks leave all rules open for modification and adaptation. I try to go easy on this (unless I broach new territory), but some DM's do not. The two characters I have just introduced are both vastly modified (Clench has a charisma of -14 I think [yes that is negative 14] which is not possible by rulebook standards, but then again neither is a hag/troll [or may I add a half-ogre lol]).
