And Bill Gates is in Seatle...That's Northwest, not just North. :*laughs*:
We've got Lil' John, T.I., the Ying Yang Twins, Jerry Rice, and me. South wins hands down.
EDIT: And I beat you all at massing

Urran: But I've smacked you around more. Who was on top last time I played BFR? Uh huh. That's what I thought. ME.
The North includes everything north! Not just the Northeast!
And rappers can kiss my behind. WE'VE got Metallica! THEY OWN ALL! So North wins.. though Manning is a southerner, so its a close thing. But we have Joe Montana.

First of all Kraken is not Mrs Raunch, she's not my wife she's merely my mistressGen. Volkov wrote: Not opinion, Mrs. Raunch. (I'm male as you already know) Those is the facts. It is a fact that the south's economy was slave based. It is a fact that abolitionism threatened it. You cannot deny it. The South had slaves, and depended on them. No matter how much history is revised, that is a fact.
Your sister never had thumbs.. unless she isn't your real sister. I'm sorry, you have fake thumbs. :*laughs*:
Both the North and the South had slaves. The North decided to free them because they thought it would help them win the war. Was the South dependant on slaves? Yes, much more so than the North which might help others see why it would make sense for the North to free them. The secession had been brewing for some time, and if they freed the slaves it would A: weaken the South's economic power thereby weakening their ability to secede, and B: garner more sympathy with their side.
The South seceded because the federal government had been continually stepping outside it's boundaries and trying to usurp the states authority. One of the issues the federal government tried to usurp the states authorities on was slavery, but it was not at all the only one and it wasn't until after the war had already started. Let me ask you this, did you know that the North didn't free the slaves until they were losing the Civil War? Check out the timeline of the Civil War here.
The war started out with a year and a half of the North suffering one defeat after another they decided to free the slaves. If the war was about slaves, how come they weren't freed by either side until after the war had already begun? For those that are too lazy to check, the South seceded on Feb 9th 1891 and the Civil War started on Aprli 12th 1891. President Lincoln has his preliminary emancipation proclamation on September 22nd, 1892 freeing the slaves, then on January 1st 1893 he has his now-famous Emancipation Proclamation in which he freed all slaves everywhere. There was a grand total of 468 days of war before slavery became an issue.
The preliminary Emancipation Proclamation can be found here. That basically said that if the South did not end the war that he would free the slaves in the South. He set Jan 1st 1893 as the deadline. As we all know the South did not give up and so on Jan 1st 1893 he did the final Emancipation Proclamation freeing the slaves.
There's quite a few books out about the Civil War that were written in that era. I'd strongly recommend you pick one of those up if you ever want to find out what the Civil War was really about. Just make sure you don't get one written since the Civil Rights movement, those are usually classic examples of revisionist history
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Actually what you just wrote is an example of revisionist history. No offense, but you have quite a few facts wrong there. The North had few to none slaves at the beginning of the war, because unlike the south, they were industrialized and no longer needed them. Why do you think Harriet Tubman shuttled people to the North? To meet relatives before going back to working for the white man in the South? The Emancipation Proclamation did not free all slaves everywhere. It freed the ones in the South, if you read the proclamation it explicitly says so. And the South claimed that's why they were seceding, that has nothing to do with the real reason. You have to scratch a bit deeper than official explanations sometimes. You really think we invaded Iraq cause we though Saddam had WMD's? And the tide of war was beginning to shift when Lincoln freed the slaves. He was actually waiting for a big victory so the Proclamation wouldn't seem like a worthless gesture. Because if your at war, you don't tend to listen to proclamations about you made by the enemy. Specially if its something like freeing the thing that powers your economy. I really reccomend you do a little more research before you make statements like these. I should know, I used to to it. And no offense, but I'm pretty sure I know more than you. I have a friend who is a history major, I have studied the Civil War quite a bit myself, and I am in college, currently taking a 200 level history course.
