Not necessarily. If you can force people to fail attacks on you, people will be able to take less land, if you're not clanned. Further, again, if you have a harder time getting land, you'll have to keep more troops out. You won't be able to store 80% of your army, you'll be able to store 30% or so, because the rest you'll need to be able to break your targets.
For example, I've got 5800 T3. If Arty wants to break me in those, he needs 6000 + troops. And I'm storing, and splitting off to build T1, as well as a few T2 and T4.
Not saying it'll kill market storing. But it may well shrink it.
What I was saying to Arty was that if he was running indy and not storing, it was a pretty poor job of indy...
Arty - If you run a strat poorly, you won't be very annoying. Just pathetic.

Pointers:
- forget about dens, only build enough to do missions.

- heavier troops eat less food AND give more net/barrack/turn. less food eating means more smithies

- store often to keep costs down - I store after every time I heal

- pick one troop type to mass for a run, changing each run.

- sell max of all 3 types you aren't massing before you start your run on the bazaar

- spend the first 350 turns attacking and building. heal often.

- try not to attack in the troop you are massing unless you have to.

- if you run out of cash, sell some of your massed army (not all, or you shut the bazaar down)

- spend the last 150 turns switching between troop types for 20 turns at a time until you have an effective defense. change foragers to dens here if you want leader defense.
