A long while ago Devari mentioned the idea of having a generalized contract system to replace bounties. There would be a certain number of scripted "triggers," such a perhaps a certain number of attacks on a warband, networth/land changes, or just a pushbutton on the part of one of the parties in the contract. Upon this trigger would be certain events, such as the transfer of goods, addition to war status, or possibly others (ideas?).

In addendum to this system, I'm proposing a system where the players would have a public written agreement, that would be viewable from any of the entered parties' profiles, as would a record of past treaties that have been broken. This would allow players to have a decant idea as to the trustworthiness of the other players.

I'm not sure if I understand this completely, so feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Example wrote:Empire A and Empire B enter into a contract stating that they will not attack each other more than 5 times per 72 hours. Empire B attacks Empire A 4 times in 72 hours and the contract is broken. Then empire A receives notification that the treaty was broken.

Something like that? Because that would only be useful to players with an insane lack of attention to detail imo.

Sounds good, although the initial part that I'd implement is just the public contracts system. It would also go well with the economic and other reforms in the pipeline.
