My idea: Have a spell that trades land for troops.

Value of land would vary. May I add that this, if implemented, be based also on a modifier depending on the total land in the game? Free land only, I assume?

Sort of a bump, and a note that this should not help someone's hawk/land ratio.

Give all an incentive to hawk-scout first and it may be interesting.

It is land-dropping of a fashion.... Which I don't really like.

Perhaps if there is a 5k limit to land "dropped" per day...?

I think land droping is a mean thing to do but it can save your warband.

If we make a land far we will not need to have land droop limits.
Not that i think it is a bad idear just thinking outloud or should i say online.

Yes, it encourages land-dropping, which is bad. Also sounds difficult to come up with a way to prevent people from dropping all of the land in the game and gaining tons of troops, but still make it useable in several cases.

As long as more land goes in than comes out, I care not.

If someone wants an investiture-based strat, fine. As long as it uses up their turns doing the mission, it's not any improvement over indy. The only advantage would be that it doesn't require building conversion, but since it does kill off hawk ratios, I figure hawk people would use it only when nothing else will do. Sure, an indy could do this, but with the few hawks he has, each mission would convert so little land that it'd be not really useful, unless he could break no one, and had land which was otherwise useless.

Only if the troops you get is based off the leaders you have, not the land you drop. Then only leader massers would use it, allowing them to get more troops and perfect their ratio.

No, I said it would kill your ratio, and using your turns, you can't do your usual loot sprees. It's cheaper than buying from the pubmarket at max prices, but you still don't get a price good enough to use more often than when you've just got a desperate need for troops. Current hawk regain rates take two runs to fill your huts, plenty to stop investiture to be used often.
