Inasmuch as a paraphrase is accurate... Anyways, thanks for letting him know.
On the issue of advertising: I have two things to say. One is that if his issue with advertising is not FAF related, then why did he allow other promisances to advertise, yet not FAF? You can't contradict that.
Secondly, this is an absolutely important point. I really appreciate his objection to clutter; therefore, I suggest the creation of an 'Affiliates' forum for RWL's affiliates: Terrouge and would-be FAF. Perhaps other promisances can later be affiliates. That reduces clutter.
I may also note that since the forums really fall under your "jurisdiction", this is largely your decision.
I do not understand Retto's stance on the code. Would we be able to fix bugs in the code or not? Seems to me right now all he wants is us emailing him lines of code. That's quite ridiculous. We can email him files, of course, for him to upload.
Please resolve the affiliation matter first, because the code matter depends upon it.
As to Retto's comment that the code is not bug-prone, I have discovered 2 new bugs: both allow an attacker to change anything in the game database.
Proposal
This sounds good, although it would be MUCH easier to give him complete files. Lines of code is too confusing for both the patcher and the implementer.
If this is an issue of us putting in backdoors, I would hope he knows us enough to realize that we are beyond malicious coding. I really hope that wouldn't be a concern of his.

I think I have implied that Retto’s code is just that. Retto’s. I have brought him here to talk about it, which is as far as I can really do. I would recommend direct email to Retto with ideas and thoughts that could possibly change his mind.
Surely there is a way, such as in MS Word that changes can be lighted up for review before implementing.
On a personal and non Admin note and thoughts, I would not upload blindly files. Would you? People can vouch for their own actions, but can they do so for others?
How many times has Retto’s computer been hacked causing him to shut down the server? How many times have people exploited bugs causing resets? How many times have people exploited bugs in an attempt to show the pit falls of the program?
Luckily FAF does not have this kind of attacks constantly against them. I think it is no big secrete that each times people find their weeks of work going down the drain because of hackers, our player base goes down. Then sometimes immediately following such attacks there are posts on our forum how that bug is not on FAF. Staff members of FAF come to RWL and start fights and controversy on our site, thus making it unpleasant for people. Then those members that come here are told how bad a place RWL is. I can not show the connection of these facts, of course, but under the circumstances if you were in Retto’s shoes, what would you do?
Now I am not implying that is the plan or intent of FAF. But what has been happening. All this for no benefit since there is no profit in operation of a game.
Last year I went to a hackers party. Very interesting! Everyone only went by their screen names (rather like the matrix) and walked in covering their faces from prying eyes on the street. The walls in some parts of the house were covered with anti listening devices. There was a room with monitors all over the place, 5 for each computer. I was shown how this one screen that looked like a defrag program was tracking the hacker tracing program so they could keep moving to the unprotected parts of the target computer. Needless to say, these guys did it for a living, the top professional.
My point being, that everything has to be in comparison. To them, hacking any server that would carry a prom game would be a joke. (*) The multi million dollars anti hacking programs in major corporations and government only exist because of these guys, and those like them. The level of security is directly proportional to those that intend to intrude.
The only reason RWL appears not secure is because of the quantity of those testing the site. FAF only appears safe because of the few people testing its site. I agree that FAF does have more safeties then RWL. But RWL has more safeties then a simple game should have.
(* After rereading, not to be taking that I would actually ask someone to do such a thing. Quite the opposite)

Wolf Bite

~Beatles~An interesting point is that, dislike Wolf Bite as much as I will, he has done much to herd the unruly bunch at RWL into a more respectable community. Iron fist in a velvet glove you might say.

Wolf Bite, your argument is convincing. HOWEVER, having looked at the Promisance code myself (as well as Vera), we know that the vanilla Promisance code is very badly written, with not many coding standards, and not much security. I bow before Purgett, don't misunderstand me, but when he wrote the program, PHP coding was less secure in general.
Of course, changes can be highlighted for reviewing. UNIX diff program will do this, and we can provide a web version of the same for Retto. MS Word is unnecessary and insecure.
