Dear Members,

Due to the completion, recently, of most of what we have planned for the FAF 1.0 release, there is right now not much development going on. In a few days, we will release FAF 1.1 for download, which will be the cumulative result of the bug-fixes and minor features of the last few months. As one of the major coders for the release, and one of the 'steering admins' (as regards the direction we are taking the game), I feel I am ready to retire. We have looked at someone capable to take on the role of FAF's leader, and Veranor and I have agreed -- as the two almost exclusive coders and leaders -- that the best person suited for this role is Nevadacow.

Nev has shown himself a very capable leader during the 'Dark Days' of FAF -- when the game was unfinished, bug-ridden, and nearly unusable. He continued to imbue the game with a sense of normalcy, and did this work with remarkable dedication. None of the admins stuck it out as much as he did, not Veranor, Devari, nor I. It therefore seems reasonable that he is the person most capable at the helm during these times when there is no active development.

I will still hang around, to a degree, but only if there is something that needs to be done: bug-fixes, urgent new features, etc. Otherwise, suggestions will just be queued up into a new list for version 2.0, in the indeterminate future.

I have asked Nev, and he is willing to take on this role again. I couldn't have found a better choice for the project leader, so let me announce that Nevadacow is from now on the project's leader and main admin. All questions that you would ask from me, for example, should be directed to him. Thank you.

I thank you for the job... and for everything. As some may rember, there was a time when I belived that FaF (as it was then called) was a bit of a lost cause. I hadn't the PHP experiance necessary to fix the various problems of the day, so I decided to abondon the FaF codebase, and use BAXX as a starting point. Two weeks and some sloppy code later, I had only gotten halfway through implementing one Warbands feature. I was doomed... But then Beatles, Devari, and Veranor stepped in and saved Warbands. For this, I, along with the greater FAF community am greatful. I only hope that Warbands shall thrive under my tenure as it has for Beatles.
