A moon sized nuke, supposing it existed, would probably make Mars unsafe as well from fallout, since fallout in low gravity can go quite a while.

I moon size nuke???? That would not only destroy us, but a large portion of the solar system. Fallout wouldn't matter, but that is going to be a VERY large explosion. YOu could get far enough away not to be affected. Unless you were somewhere outside in the solar system, but then you couldn't drop it. Leave it somewhere and detonate I suppose.. but its the size of the MOON!
