I say we tests its limits.. 10 of us sign up, then all scout all of our 10k turns at the exact same moment.. wonder what it'll do? stall? or could it handle it?
Meh. The FAF code is lean, it's not that. And the issue wasn't crashing the server last time: the server was fine, but we went over the arbitrary "2% of the CPU" limit, leading to the account being terminated. But anyways, that was /millions/ of scouts tens of times: so your test wouldn't be much of a load anyways...
I chose 10,000 because it's reasonable and fun. Not much too much, but 10,000 is enough for a skilled player, even a not-so-skilled one. I am not changing policy.
Well, it went /over/ 2%.. I wouldn't be surprised if it went up to 99% for a few seconds, because after all processes that need the most CPU are given the most CPU if nobody else is using it.
How about we all stop pestering Beatles to add a new server. We have enough to run a successful game as it is. Now, we need to go to other gaming sites and advertise FAF more.
