I was thinking about the combined attacks, Sniper and Pincer, and thinking "Do they really have a purpose?"
The only purpose I could think of was the allow more troops to be used when trying to break a guard-massing enemy. Other then that, they are pretty much useless. If you have enough of one type of troop to break someone, why not just use that troop's specific attack, and not worry about dragging a second troop along, which might put you at a disadvantage?
So, I thought that maybe this would work to make them more usefull.
Instead of calculating their attack points together, they are calculated seperatly. Example, I'm attacking with a pincer attack, which uses hare and otters. Instead of calculating the attack points of my hares and otters vrs. the defense points of their hare and otters, it calculates the attack points of my hares vrs. the defense points of their hares, and the same with my otters vrs. their otters.
If both groups break through, then you capture 150% of the amount of land you would normaly have captured. If only one group breaks through, then you get 75% of normal land yeild. If neither group breaks through, then you take 50% more losses. (That is, 150% of normal.) Of course, percents might need to be adjusted, but I think it's a decent idea. The same kind of thing might also be done for Standard Attack.
So, what do you think of this idea?
