*Ruddertail raises his paw.* Hadn't we better get back to class, Professor? You were just talking about the HPR strat.

There are several variants of the HPR strat. One variant that I used with much success is very simple.
1. Location-hide (one of the Professors can explain this to you if you are unsure)
2. Build almost all foragers, and a nominal amount of markets (no tents) and no other building.
3. At any time, scout until you have 12k-15k acres, then forage all your turns. If you can, put all you have into your clan's Treasury, or on the public market.

Pros:
1. Not so many will attack you due to your location-hiding.
2. Breeze to play.
3. You're always in the plus on food, have money around, and don't need to bother with troops. You don't have much land people could want to take.
4. You can hide your true resources until you have enough of them to impress everyone. (Especially right before a reset...)
5. It will greatly benefit your clan, if you are in one.

Cons:
1. People may steal extra resources from you.
2. The clan treasury can fill up, and the public market deducts 20%.
3. You can't repel any attacks.
4. You will have a low ranking, due to storing everything not on your account.

Location hide: v to move to a Location with few players, in order to avoid attacks by people too lazy to prepare hawks.

Thanks for explaning it. How could somone be to lazy to prepare hawks, though? That doesn't seem normal... Then again, what do I know about normal in these types of games? I've only played warbands since January.

Well sometimes it's just simpler to attack other opponents. Also, you need a high ratio, not everyone has it. If a hawk mission is yellow, you don't have enough runes; if it's red, you don't have the ratio.

I'd like to add one more thing to the "HPR" Strategy. (We really need to make our own name for it :) )

If you are in a large and powerful clan, you can greatly benefit. Because the clan is powerful, people will be less likely to attack even the weakest members, fearing retribution from the more powerful members. This enables you to go through your strategy without having your land (Note 1) or your food (Note 2) taken.

Fear tactics - gotta love 'em.

Note 1: Having your land taken under this strategy is no big deal. For one, you do not need to support any troops, thus you're not going to go into deficits. For two, you can scout most of it back.

Note 2: This is very bad for the aspiring HPR. Before FaF, this was not as much of a problem, as you could only take food with the "Rob Graneries" spell. Nowadays, attacks can seriously eat into your food supply. Thus, having protection is a very good thing.

About HPR.

No, new players should not try it. If you say "I HPR," It doesn't mean "Don't hurt me, please." It means "FREE LAND!"

Whereas, if you're already famous here, you HPR, people know what you can have others do to you. They respect you and you slowly gain the top.

Ad the Rat was the most famous HPR at RWL. He managed to get the top spot quite a few times. This is because he was allied with mostly everyone. He was already a staff member (I think.) and so he was unharmed.

You try this, and you are free land. Be careful.
Back. I think.

Location hiding is great. Though I normally move to Mossflower for the extra troop bonus (everyone knows about the different bonuses, right?). I have /tried/ to HPR a few times, but got fed up with the constant attacks guided toward me, so I convert to attacking (a lot). If anyone should teach HPR, it'd be Ad.

(We shouldn't come up with a new name for HPR. This will just get confusing when some players try out RWL)
