Ah, ever changing threads... I somehow missed this earlier today. Drat.

I'd guess the reason not much is said about war production and suply is that it's the less exciting part of war, while most people want to read or here about the major battles and such. So it only gets mentioned in the more comprhensive books.

But I agree with you Devari, in saying that we [The US] can't claim we "Saved Europe". We played a major part, but we didn't do it alone.

Haha yea, I meant that there is a good chance that the axis would have won the war if we hadn't of came in.
It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

but if you're one against a bunch... killing one will simply guarantee your death no?

i tried waiting out the killers, but of course, it makes more sense for them to attack me when i have all my troops stashed on the market, and not when i have them pulled for defense :) eventually, i had to come out of 'turtle mode', and then i got whacked :>

guess there isn't any defence against killing...

Not always, because if they've only got three people, and you kill one, they'll have a much harder time killing the person. On COG, it's next to impossibe to have a two person kill run. Maybe if both have full turns, and have runes to hawk heal. Then you might be able to pull it off...

Like I said, have a couple of allies sitting around, so that they can pound the people trying to kill you. A kill run, by nature, wastes a lot of resorces, so they'll be especilly valnerable during/after. Other then that, just try not to get on anyone's bad side to much, and make it known that you will come back and them in retal. And don't get to attached to your accounts, especilly on BFR.

If I could just add to that, based on my observations after getting killed

- stored troops on the market does u no good
- at the end of each run, turn your food and cash into troops. Troops all the way (it's also better for your NW *BONUS*)
- do NOT mass 1 type of troop. you gotta have everything... a hole in your defense makes it easy for the killers
- if you gotta die, make sure you die in style :D

sorry, this may be common sense to veterans, but i didn't really think about that when i made my mistakes. i dropped my defences after getting bored of waiting to be killed... :) We'll see if I can survive this time!! :D

It'll all be outdated in a week or two when the new code comes in and killing is restricted to standard attacks.
Back. I think.

Failing the if, guard + troop mass when you know a lynch mob is near.
Back. I think.

Yes, there is a hit limit. (22, I believe) But with personal war, that can be disreguarded with the push of a btton.

But there are benifits to it. Namely, unclanned warbands can't just go around hitting people as hard as they want, and being generally mean, and just sit back and think they're impregnable... You have to watch out if you start being a jerk, because you can be killed...

:D  Preemptive strike anyone you suspect might try to harm you in order to weaken their future attack on you... Of, course there are many more complex politics involved in the decision of attacking a warband but that sums it up in a nutshell.

p.s. For some reason your gmt thing is messed up... It says -5 gmt is eastern but its 1 hour off from where I live...

Daylight savings time might be screwing it up. Check the box about daylight savings time by the time setting, and it should be fixed.
