I tried downloading (and unzipping) the code after I installed the Evaluation version of WinZip, and it automatically opens to Word. Anyone have any ideas?

what other programs do you have?
if Word is your default text editor it would open in it.. but thats not exactly recommended.. atleast, I wouldnt recommend it.. ms office tends to add stuff to code..
metapad is spiffy... http://www.liquidninja.com/metapad/download.html
or you could use notepad...

(or... Gedit/Nedit/your fav. linux editor.. I like Gedit myself..)

How would you set a text editor to default?

you shouldnt have to set it to default.. just right click and select 'open with' or whatnot.. I've fallen out of practice with windows.. it hates me now.. it stalled when I tried to save my Maple worksheet.. after I'd spent 45 min workin on it.. I was not pleased..

Use Macromedia Dreamweaver? You can probably get a free trial from www.download.com
