Karma Policy

Informationaly only for Members.
Whenever a staffer thinks you said something clever, interesting, funny, informative, creative, kind, whatever, s/he will add karma to you. Whenever a staffer sees something you say that is trollish, flaming, baiting, unkind, stupid, very badly spelled, spamming, etc., s/he will take away from your karma. Everyone starts at zero right now. Nothing happens to you if your karma goes way down or up, but people will be able to see how good/bad it is.

Sounds like a good idea!

Here is another idea... What if you made it so regular users could give each other ratings and the average rating would be displayed right below the karma. Now I understand that this might be overkill, but it would be cool none the less.

We have calria, Myrhakel, and sh0e as moderators at the moment.
calria and Myrhakel left.
Sh0e pops around once in a while, though (from what I've seen) he doesn't do any moderating.

I had Karma for awhile... Where did it go?

Here is another idea on the Karma:

You could make it so that regular posters could add one Karma to another posters total each day. On a side note you could also allow the poster to take away one Karma each day.

Are there negative effects to karma?

Example:
-5: You get a warning
-10, -20, -30 and so on: You get gagged for n number of days where n is the tens digit
-50: Lose Insanity and Spam privilages:
-100: Banned

Some people would consider the shame of a bad karma rating punishment, and the pride of a good karma rating fulfilment.
