"Basic definition: Karma is a sanskrit word and a concept of eastern religions. Simply explained, it is a sum of all that an individual has once done and is currently doing. The effects of those deeds actively create all that is to happen and determine every present and future experience, thus completely excluding random chance. "

Karma is your good deeds and bad deeds (or on the forums good posts and bad posts).
A good post gives you karma while a bad post takes karma away
A good post is defined as
-Stays on topic
-Inserting information or oppinion
-Good spelling
-Understandable
A bad post is defined as
-Off topic (spam)
-pointless information
-Bad spelling
-Incoherent

I would also say that a good post is one that adds to to conversation in a good way or one that adds good information.

Ok I am seeing the same thing happening on LO as is happening here. No one really knows or cares about karma (that much). I think it would be better if it was given out a little more freely. At the time of this post I have one karma which I asume was given for good sportsman ship in the BFR game. I think though that a lot of other people showed good sportsmanship and should get karma.Corban wrote: I would also say that a good post is one that adds to to conversation in a good way or one that adds good information.
I dont think giving out more karma (to some extent) would make it any less important. Rather someone would post a well written paragraph or two and do something like send it through spell check. Then they would look a day later to see if they got any karma. If no one thinks that they will get karma then they wont put any extra effort into thier posts.
Just my two cents
