Ok, so bear with me here, most I know about computers (Linux and whatnot. I know the basics) I learned form glancing through threads here.
I am currently running a dual-boot system with Red Het 9.0 and XP Professional. Although I want to switch it from Red Hat 9.0 to Mandrake 10.1 (or Mandriva) I have no clue how to do this. I also Want to make sure I have the files correctly downloaded so I can save them to a CD and get started. (Screenshot)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v660/ ... rake10.jpg
Thanks for your help,
ohmyjapan16

P.S. Do you guys have any favorite sources that you learned alot from? Pretty broad question, but like any books or websites that really helped you to understand more ? Sorry if it's confusing...
P.P.S. Look at the time in the screenshot :P

eh, Beatles provided just about all the help I needed ;)
www.google.com is a rather useful tool as well

I do not believe that you can upgrade Redhat to MDK, but you can, ofcourse, do a clean install. If you've already go your machine partitianed like you want it then its very simple.. in MDK setup, go delete your RH partitians and tell MDK to auto-allocate that space in the way it sees fit (which it tends to do a good job with, you might adjust swap to be bigger or smaller, depends on how much ram you have) and if you want to adjust the space it does a good job with that as well..

if you've got EasyCd Creator I'm almost positive that has an image burner with it.. just try double clicking the icon and it'll probably go ahead and take you to it (given its already claimed the file) (and yeah.. there should be only three 3 cds) if not, just look for 'burn a cd-image'.. should be somewhere...

AH! and go download MDK 10.2 LE 2005 =-P its availible, they've hidden it, but its availible.. I'll find the link later...

go choise a mirror from http://www1.mandrivalinux.com/en-us/ftp.php3

look under: Download from public FTP mirrors
click the only link under that
it'll take you to a list of servers
pick yer poisen ;) some servers are frustratingly slow, others are nicely fast.. if you pick a slow one first try another.. 'course, if you have a slower connection then it doesnt really matter either way..

You may have not completely finished the download of the CD image, or it might have been corrupted. Do you know how to run a md5sum on a file?

sh0e: I do have the B2 version. Do you have the link to the new one?

Sir Devari: It was finished recording, I'm pretty sure it wasn't corrupted, and no.

Have you tried with a different disk? That disk might have been scratched or otherwise damaged, although that isn't likely.

you might want to try getting the md5 checksum like devari said just in case
you could try mounting the iso to see if its valid

id recommend getting a different cd burning proggie after that
