We're not peaceful. You should have figured that out from a few days of playing. We simply don't like random, senseless, killing. On the other hand, it's pretty much acceptable to max a person if they have plenty of land. I don't know where people can up with this thing that murders are evil. Obviously, they're an act of war, but no more and no less.
