Reforming Playing Conditions

Gentlemen, it is no secret that morale is on the floor. Almost weekly, new players arrive and are almost (or sometimes quite) scared off by the conditions on BFR. What conditions, you say? Even our most loyal players must admit that it is a vicious and unfriendly game, one in which skill is not so much valued as is personality, luck, and being near the computer often. Perhaps you may say I am too harsh, but I don't care.
What can be done about it, and why do we need to do anything about it? Well, first of all, the playing conditions on BFR are the legacy of Karlin, not ours. Since we've split with Karlin anyway, it is time to reform the conditions to suit our new style. We have put a tremendous effort into features, but little into game-planning itself, which is even more important. People have downloaded and installed our source code, then taken it off. Can there be any greater shame than that? I think not.
Therefore I will be taking the time in the next day or two to implement a new server with what I hope will be more reasonable playing conditions. I invite you all to play it, and liberally give me advice, suggestions, etc. for its improvement. The game will be hosted on the dev server, replacing the current dev setup. Please sign up and play it. We shall try to knock it into shape by the August 1 release.

Don't out it just make it slightly less powerfull... I like that feature but you could make it so that it has like lets say....... allows 5 more attacks on a user or something like that. Or maybe you could make it so that you cant be nuteral again for 3-5 days instead of the standard whatever it is...The Beatles (Hungary) wrote: Yes, maybe personal warfare needs to go out the window. For what its worth here would be my two cents about this things that might help keep members, and expand membership , i have seen other mmorpgs do it , and they are thriving well enough :
1.No kingdom can be attacked more then 12 times, per any given hour .
2. You can not attack any kingdom that you have more then a 3 to 5 million offense or defense over, you have to wait until they are with in the 3,000,000 under range, or temporary drop you stats to do it
3.cash and food can only be hit 4 times per any given hour,
things like this might help, this is just my opinion,I think it would keep more players, and bring more players, so their are more targets .

That doesn't sound that bad. There still needs to be a clan
war option or something.

How would emperors fight and be taken down?

This one sounds alright.

make it to where empired can't be deleted untill X hours after created and X turns ran. to avoid the suicide land dropping. also if indy massing is removed how many poeple do you think wont be running agrigarian slasher *laughs* other then you because you always hawk..... btw beatles i believe you meant september now august *laughs* seeing how its middle of august
how about this then here is another way to go about it that might be more fair.
1. any given clan can only attack an individual 20 times per hour, they can still be attacked by others non members, it keeps a clan from actually burying anyone flat out, if clan is at war with said other clan 30 attacks, per clan in an hours time .
2.I still think you should restrict those who have say a 70 million offense and defense from hitting those with a 5 million offense and defense, just to get easy land .
3. the food and cash runs, should be limited starts 4 to 8 possibly.
these will not restrict over all game play, but they will protect independents in such a way, were they cant be totally massed by one clan .
