I'm trying to do a boot with windows and Linux. In my grub file I have:

code: Select all

title WindowsME
root (hd1,0)
chainloader +1
boot
I got that off the internet. The windows hard drive is my second hard drive. I get an error 25 when I try to use it.

Only "problem" with LILO is the whole "write to MBR instead of config file" thing. Then again, GRUB borked itself when I did some repartioning, while LILO would have lived.

I say problem loosly. I actually prefer LILO. :P

code: Select all

title windows
	rootnoverify (hd0,0)
	chainloader +1
Fedora by default uses GRUB, and I've been fairly happy with it
that loads windows fine on my machine

spiffy ^_^

btw, 'cause this topic is linux-related, how the elk do you kill kicker in KDE?!
I did "killall kicker" and it /restarted/ kicker.. the second time worked, but still..

I renamed 'kicker' in /usr/bin to kicker~ with the thought that if it couldnt find it, it wouldnt start it.. but it did O_o

I'd like xfce4-systray to auto-load, as I'm rather tired of kicker and its little quirks.. but I cant even get that to start.. I did yum install xfce4-systray, and it installed it fine, xfce4-panel works great, but the systray wont work, or am I trying to call the wrong thing?

meh.

linspire looks rather pretty, but I dont really care much for it.. I looked at it on somone else's computer.. took a bit to load, doesnt seem to have a compiler, you have to pay for its programs.. its way too much like windows -.- ...but it also seems harder to break.. which is rather nice..

if you like it thats great though =D

oh, and antisocial ; )
