Btw windy I had that problem too... that's the only reason I know... I did a locate -i kicker XD

there is no xfce4-systray. Only xftaskbar4 and xfce4-panel
1. panel: systray is a plugin
2. taskbar: you can use XFCE Control Panel or whatever to make it appear in the taskbar

Linspire is the WORST linux distro I've ever used. It is very slow. I'm trying Ubuntu right now. It could be good for someone comming from windows though.

that's pretty much what the guy who's linspire I looked at said ;)
he's a gentoo fan.. but doesnt want to spend 3 days setting up his computer.. (gads, fedora installed in under an hour)

but yeah, to each their own..

that would be it Beatles ^_^
I couldnt find it in the yum group, so I assumed systray was it.. seemed likely enough, but I just ended up doing what I should have done to begin with and ran 'yum groupinstall XFCE' and it was packaged somewhere in there with the others ^_^

updatedb
is taking forever to run.. *sigh*

^___^

got 'er

do "locate panel.desktop"
and change two of the three files there, its obvious which 'cause the third has just a few lines that doesnt look like it needs changing..

kicker == gone

the only thing I'll miss about it is the K-menu.. I'll set about editing the xfce4 menu so that it has a few of the things its missing later..

Oh, nice! :D

But... If you only wanted the files on the desktop thingy, why didn't you just run XFCE with kdesktop?

I've got a Linspire iso only because it was the last day of "Freespire" and I finally got through. Heck, I figure it could be useful someday.

Heh, I'm completely KDE. Dunno, I just like it and understand how most of it works. It's pretty fast, too! (And I'm only running a 1.1 GHz machine with 256 MB RAM)

I used to launch the KDE services on XFCE's startup (you can set it in Sessions). But even so it was slow.

Then again my text editor is pico in an xterm, so who am I to speak...

Yeah, I found it a couple of days ago. Good read. I'll try it when it comes out, no doubt!

I actually like stock KDE. But I'm funny that way...
