I have a friend who normally uses Safari on OS X. Apparently Firefox still sucks on Mac, though.
I wonder if it's that whole PowerPC-x86 big-endian little-endian buisness. It strikes me that FF is primarly programmed for Wintel/Linux, so maybe the OS X version simply does not get the same kind of attention.
I mean, on x86 Linux for me right now, I have been able to measure (not making up a figure here) a 3x speed improvement. But apparently the beta still sucks on Mac.
Huh. I wonder if the move to Mactel will change things, or if it is actually an OS X issue. OS X really sucks at certain things, apparently. Good for desktop, though.

If you go down to the woods today, you better not go alone
It's a lovely day in the woods today, but safer to stay at home

How did you hear about Philip?
XFIND it's that whole PowerPC-x86 big-endian little-endian buisness strikes him or her that FF is primarly programmed for WintelLinux so maybe the OS X version simply does not get the same kind of attention? Oh I get it. Thanks for explaining that. What is
on x86 Linux for him or her right now he or she have been able to measure not making up a figure here a 3x speed improvement
like on x86 Linux for him or her right now he or she have been able to measure not making up a figure here a 3x speed improvement. And.
Can we get back to business?
What? Some of them do, I think. I like the way you talk.
Oh. Thanks for the compliment. Your purpose is desktop.

OS X is hideously slow compared to other major players. I still can't understand how they messed up the kernel so badly. They have taken the speed hit of the Mach wrapped with a BSD interface, effectively taking away the power that the Mach provided, but retaining the performance loss. For $SUPREME_POWER's sake, OS X Server can't even handle over 10 concurrent requests without becoming hideously slow!
No, give me Linux any day.

Are they exactly the same?OS X is hideously slow compared to other major players. I still can't understand how they messed up the kernel so badly. What would make you stop can't understand how they messed up the kernel so badly? That is interesting:
Undefined said Undefined can't understand how they messed up the kernel so badly.
Where did they get them?Your purpose is $SUPREME_POWER's sake OS X Server can't even handle over 10 concurrent requests without becoming hideously slow. What does hand holding mean to you? Why do you want Linux any day?

curious
possibly the speed boost is most noticable in linux
given thats probably the preferred OS of the upgraders of firefox, that could make sence..
then again, maybe firefox creaters prefer linux, I wouldnt know
I cant bash mac much
it may be slower, but its relitivly stable, and has some nifty eyecandy
