Hello Community,
I made a weak commitment to Nev a month or so ago, to restart FaF. Unfortunately because my working week averages to 60-70 hours, I did not keep it. Posting that commitment here on the forums sort of forces my hand to keep going.
Harbor no illusions as to where credit is due: I am not the main coder now. All I can do is manage the project, to keep things going, and occasionally contribute code. The main coder is Vera, so be quite grateful to him.
The point of the commitment is to get the current codebase to a point where 1. we don't have to be ashamed of it, 2. is playable. Knowing as you do our high standards, you can anticipate just how excellent this finished game will be. What with Vera and me working on it last year, the code is actually in very good shape. We haven't got terribly much left, and we are pushing to finish it.
There will be several changes, for better or for worse. First of all, we have decided to rename the game, for a clean start, and possibly a theme change (only possibly), and release it under 3.0, to reflect the amount of work in it. After all, we have put work and thought into many excellent features that you see in the game, but nowhere else.
Do not be mistaken that we will finish very soon - we are both busy. At this time, I won't even give an estimate, but at least you know we are working on it. When we are done, we will announce, change name, perhaps advertise, et cetera. You will know, that is.
Holby brought it to my attention, and Vera pointed it out, that RWL is in a turbulent phase right now. We mean to show you what a well-planned and well-managed game is like. I think no further comment is necessary. If we can release, for FaF was never fully released, but only submitted for your testing, then you can be certain we will be ready.
As part of our policy of openness, I've decided to let you all view the current features, as they are being done, changed, dropped, whatever. Please visit

at any time to see what we are working on. Don't worry if some things are in 'Backburner' - that only means they are not essential to the 3.0 release.
Finally, the admins will be proposing new names for the project, but you members can also do so, in replying to this topic. Let me say: if your proposal is not well-thought out or original, don't even bother to post it. Why have a sucky name for a great game?
Thank you for your time,
Beatles

Could you also make it so that everybody in your clan is displayed in blue text like your allies?
p.s. Thanks so much, and if there is anyway I can help I would be glad to...

Could we do something about the Vali code? My e-mail is terribly slow, and I would really love it if your Vali could be displayed on your screen (if your IP matches with the one used when the account was created) and sent to your e-mail if you haven't Vaildated in say a day..
Also, if we could have a maximum of two empires for our account. I've tried this on GX Promisance (see the pinned announcement in GD), and it's really fun. You can have one hawker empire and one who masses terrible armies. But you could not send aid to your other empire..

Acually no... You must make your clan allied to your own clan in order for it to work...The Beatles wrote: Corban:

Now does Josh actually play Protoss? This is what I've always wondered. Sure, fenix, so you would assume he does. But maybe deep down inside he's a big fan of the zerg.sh0e wrote: you can thank josh for that
he told a starcraft junkie about the site and the junkie told his friends and etc
josh also persuaded a bunch of other ppl to go back to rwl
What exactly are we thanking him for?
"The truth is a trap: you can not get it without it getting you; you cannot get the truth by capturing it, only by its capturing you." - Søren Kierkegaard
im saying the recent sudden burst at rwl was due to josh
he can easily cause an introduction of at least 20 ppl overnight to any place on a whim
he does play protoss.. and he has a tendency to abuse nastily some of the toss specials
he uses some strategies that will make steam come out of your ears
but he plays all races im quite sure
i dont know what he plays nowadays tho.. ive been awol from starcraft for a while now
but for a while before i left we were playing almost nothing but ums maps

Hello everyone.
I presume I'm not needed around here right now?
It has been a while. Sorry to everyone (and Nev for leaving him as the only admin) for fading away after Beatles took his break. Life is a busy thing.
(Not really the right place to put this, but, hey, I'm lazy.)

If you go down to the woods today, you better not go alone
It's a lovely day in the woods today, but safer to stay at home
