Not even wargames usually have rules... it's quite like war, innit? On BFR, you can do what you like as long as you don't online, but that's a convention, just like the Geneva Convention. Here too we are agreeing to something, but again it's just a convention, there is no Admin or Deity to enforce it. So I would think our wargame approximates war quite well in the social aspect. (Barring of course the fact that kills are cheap and you can sign up again.)
[edit] I guess that's not quite correct, due to stuff like hit limits and clan stuff, is it? So yeah... in some ways it's like, in some ways it's not.

That might be a good idea Nuke. But it can't just be the same as the old personal war, with limits. Personal war was exploited to death, and this would be, two. I think maybe some sort of admin-set war, once things have been done according to Devari's guidelines, would be good. That way, personal war would only occur when proper conditions had been met, and it could not be exploited.

No, we have to remember that this is essentially the Geneva Convention for WOA. As Beatles says, there is no deity that can go around strictly enforcing it. An admin-set war function is essentially creating such a deity. The administration should probably take a hands-off approach on the matter, as it should not be able to affect the game in any way.

As Lord Philip Redtail II, I decree:
1. Landgrab attacks shall be kept light.
2. Retal will be the main source of land. I will retal to the maxium extent profitable for repeat attackers, for rarer attackers, this will be different.
3. Alliances and clan memberships are permanate unless otherwise noted, or mutual disbanding.
4. It is not profitable to kill a warband. I will NEVER kill, and expect not to be killed.
5. In war, I fight to disable my opponent, unless peace is decreed.
I shall agree to nothing more.

Since Admin setting war is not an option I'm still thinking a high enough hit limit for the playerbase to enforce it is the only way to effectively stop it. I know you don't like to see it get exploited, and I'm not gonna say it can't be, but if it does get exploited at least the playerbase can do something about it.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.
