Eh, I don't drink or smoke or whatnot. But I do drink coffee every day, and always unsweetened tea. Anyways this is completely off topic.

Think again. I once got some cheapass orange soda that tasted nasty. I tried some, had a little fun shaking up the can and spraying it, then just dumped what was left. When my friend came over, I offered him some (aren't I nice? *evil grin*). He tried it, spit it out, then immediately took another sip only to spit it out too. I burst out laughing, and kept harassing him about it for months afterward.

The buzz is the only reason I can accept for drinking beer, although I still don't think it's a good enough reason for beer itself. Between the horrible taste and the fact that it isn't even as strong as other forms of alcohol make it a complete waste. I've considered trying mixed drinks and/or flavored alcohol (mike's hard lemon sounds promising), but I would never drink beer.

For caffiene, just give me a Coke, or some caffiene pills.
I sometimes drink tea, but never unsweetened. I put about a 1/4 inch of sugar at the bottom of a small cup (and obviously more for a large cup).

I'm not against smoking due to the health issues (I'm not health concious), I'm against it because it's disgusting, repulsive, revolting, and just plain nasty. I've grown up around smokers, and I'd rather stand behind and old school bus for an hour than to put up with tobacco smoke.
Wow, how could someone ruin orange soda? Orange soda is just about impossible to ruin. Anyway I'd never let that guy forget about that if I was you.

Mike's Hard Lemonade is pretty good, so is Smirnoff Ice. The Triple Black's not half as good as the regular Smirnoff Ice. And Malibu Rum mixed with just about anything is good. (Assuming you like coconut)

Tobacco smells so good before it's smoked (real tobacco not the processed crap in cigarettes) but I don't care for it once it's lit. I used to buy Djarum cigarettes all the time and never light one, just puff on it unlit for a bit. Those things taste so sweet you're licking your lips for an hour after having one. But when you smoke it it sucks.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

*is guessing Nuke is not underage :P *

Coke and Crown tastes pretty good..and to get a good buzz, try taking a shot of straight tequila.

None of this is from first hand experience though. ;)

Yes and meths makes you active, and LSD takes you to the heights of heaven and makes you plumb the deaths of hell. And it's none from firsthand experience, or second- or third- hand. Can we get back on topic? I propose that discussions comparing the relative merits of alcoholic drinks take place in I&S, where at least Philip can inject meaning into the conversation.

Next question? Where did meths makes you active and LSD take you to the heights of heaven and makes you plumb the deaths of hell?If you could have any kind of robot what would it be?
Do you mean you and me? Oh, you are a poet.

Do you mean you and me? Are you a student?

I just drink bad quality beer. And it´s horrible, but it´s cheap *laughs*. Let´s spend money with other stuff, like chocolate :)

On the origional topic, interesting. I think it's slightly flawed, though.

We will assume the man dislikes all beer. If this man drank bad quality beer, and found it disgusting, he most likely would not drink beer again for a long time. By the time the guy decided to taste beer again, the memory of the bad beers' taste would have faded, he would only remember that it was bad.

Now, because he dislikes all beer, this beer, which we will assume is of better quality, will still taste bad to him. Since he only remembers that the other beer tasted bad, and now thinks this beer tastes bad, it will only serve to strengthen the thought that all beer tastes bad.

The only way the stated situation could occur is if the man, for some reason, drinks good beer a short time after he drank a bad quality beer. He would then notice the difference, and, possibly, convince himself that because the good quality beer is so much better then the poor quality one, the good quality beer is good, not just better.

Yes! Thank you very much for your reply, Ruddertail. It was topical, well thought-out, and quite correct. I agree with your correction. I would also like to postulate, though, that if the man does continue to drink beer that he does not like, the same thing could happen. We are fundamentally in agreement, though.
