I've got a problem when I try to run FAF on my server.
All the files are copied and I change the settings in mijn config.php file.
The database setting and the sitedir/gamenews...(Need I change more?)
But when I'm start the game, I get a blank screen with:
Fatal error: Smarty error: the $compile_dir './templates_c/' does not exist, or is not a directory. in c:\domains\mysteries.sohosted.nl\wwwroot\faf\smarty\Smarty.class.php on line 1144
Argh. You've got a windows server, whereas most of us are used to working with *nix.
However...
Try creating a "templates_c" directory and change the permissions to unviersal read/write/execute access. On a *nix system, this would mean chmoding to 777, but I'm not sure how to do that on a Windows server.

Ok, after doing a websearch, there is nothing like CHMOD for Windows. If you have full access to your server, you'll need to create the templates_c directory and set it to write access. If you do not have full access to your webserver, you will need to call up tech support for your webhost and ask them to set that directory to write permissions.
The best solution is to use Linux/Unix hosting if available. While Frost And Flame is purposely designed to be portable (you need to make sure you're using FAF 2.0, though).

That is the stable source, but with some bugfixes (mostly minor, but I think there is a significant one in there). I updated the zip today, so the recent source is there. It is identical to what we run, so don't worry about instability.
