Member Crisis?
Not by a long shot!
But, hey, back to theme! Anthro is out. Completely. No doubt. If it's not Redwall, then there is no point in anthro.
Star Wars... Well, I can't speak for everyone, but I'm not really a big fan or anything. I've watched ROTJ, and I enjoyed it, but have never been drawn to the series as a whole. It isn't that BAD an idea, though....
LOTR would be more up my personal alley. I dunno, though...
What about a fictional world? Could be a fun creative project, and would certainly encourage RP/storytelling. But, would it attract people?!
I see us with six options:
a) Stay with Redwall.
Switch to a theme based upon some familiar series (SW, LOTR, etc)
c) Create an original world. (Fantasy or Sci-Fi)
d) Switch to a theme based upon a less-known, but still enjoyable series.
e) Have a historically-based game.
f) Recreate something similar to Hack Infiltration.
(Mostly kidding there!)

If you go down to the woods today, you better not go alone
It's a lovely day in the woods today, but safer to stay at home
BECAUSE EVIL FREEN IS KILLING ALL THE TEDDY BEARS AT THEIR PICNIC

Right, let me append:
g) Mythology-based game.
I'm not sure if even I'm in favour of it, but options are good at this stage.

I'd tend to agree, we do need a good game guide. I'd be willing to help with the game guide, but I don't know a lot of the technical stuff needed for the attacking and hawk sections.
B,C,E,G. I agree with Urran, medevil pwns futuristic.
Advantages of each as I see it:
B: Esteablished follower bases/online communties. People know what it's about, and are drawn to it by that.
C: Could do some really interesting things like that. Perhaps even something with our theme, a world with two or three rigions, two groups, each with a bonus to them, and then further devided into races (but no goodbeast/vermin like total devision), the list goes on and on...
E: History PWNZ!!! Seriously, it's cool. Medevil Japan, Ancient mediteranian... Ancient N. or S. America, even.
G: Mythology is very interesting, leaves openings for cool races, heros, etc. Lots of stuff that could be done with that theme, something like Ragnorok, perhapps?
Or, we could combine C and G.

With the historical option, we can switch to different era's every so often, like progressing through history. Not like redo the game itself, just change the troops types, eras and such.
It ain't about how hard ya hit. It's about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done!

I've always thought the Redwall theme detracted from the site. But then again I had never heard of Redwall before so I'm a bit biased. If we are going to do a historically based theme we also need to narrow it down a lot.
We could go with:
European Dark Ages with knights, pikemen, archers, and trebuchets being used by Gall, Britain, and the like.
Bronze Age with all the different races surrounding the Mediterranean of the period. Greeks, Romans, Turks etc using chariots, bowmen, phalanxs, and I think they used trebuchets then too.
American Indian tribes, not many people know a whole lot about which tribes did what so the following there may not be that great, just throwing ideas out there.
First through early third century China, better known as the Romance of the Three Kings era, had many factions involved, unfortunately this has the same downfall of the American Indian, compounded by the fact that the names will be even harder for people.
WW2 has a huge following but that would be impossible to balance out the races and be anywhere near historically accurate.
There's dozens more but I'm braindead at the moment, of the ones I listed I like the Mediterranean the best. However what could be a very interesting idea would be to incorporate 3 different periods for our version of past/present/future. Just have 3 different time periods of ancient history.

I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.
or! maybe we could have things like:
Battle for Burger Joe's
where you can attack with
posion fries!
melted cheese!
apple a la mode!
milk shake shards!
hero's include:
Ronald Mcdonald,
hamburgurler,
the kernal,
waffle man!
and the aw powerful: OBESITEY!!!

all about FAVRE, come on...you know you want to click it
The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Hey, this is a radical change and I agree with it... Though the question is... what do we change to? A series that hasn't been brought up yet is Wheel of Time. I know back in the days of TSOR Karlin was making a WOT game but other than that I believe it is completely original (as in there are not any other WOT Prominance games). somehow though I think this would fade out like Redwall... I know that I can tend lose interest in something rather quickly if its not original... So I tend to agree with the idea of making something completely original.
p.s. Medieval pwns all!
p.s.s. Here is another idea for increasing member participation... We could give monetary awards to the winners of rounds (both individuals and clans). I believe if we did this we could get a strong member participation and increase the unity of clans. The awards (and possibly hosting) could be paid for by Google's AdSense program... Now I know I have suggested Google Adsense before and you all promptly turned it down, but I think if this was done right we could improve the game greatly. This (in my opinion) would call for major template changes in order to keep the ads from being obtrusive.
