since you guys already have stocks then take a look at the bonds sections of this post, I came up with this idea about 3 years ago when we where coding up a new style of promisance game, unfortunatly we got hacked slashed and crashed "lost all the work we had gotten done". we where plannign a back up but the day we had planned it "was 3 days after we got trashed"

"Music starts to play"
If I had a hammer I'd hammer out his fingers and if I had a nail I'd nail it in his head "la la do ta do do lala lala lala la... la..."

hehe...
any how...
I really hope you all can make sense of it... :)) :)) :)) :))
If not pm me and ask any questions, wish I had voice conference help explain it better, I tried really hard to make my ramblings coherent

War bonds were a form of savings bond used in the United States to help fund World War I and World War II.
During World War II, there was a promotional cardboard container with slots for quarters.
There were 75 slots for $18.75 in quarters. When it was full, one turned it in at the post office
for a $25 war bond which matured in 10 years.

ALL numbers and game data taken from schnizits devmatch...!
my max net test empires data was included <span style='color:blue'><--- yeah a "max net cap"</span> All the rest was a total brainstorm
it hit me like some sort of stray dream, I think it was headed for our coder and missed.....

I don’t even think about stock markets..! I am a low end American and stocks are a waste of recourses to my way of life
Where in blazzes did this come from...*laughs*
Having a part in creating this new game is making me think.....*laughs*

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS WAS A PROPOSED IDEA, IT IS WORDED FUTURISTICALLY
So with out any further a due...

STOCKs and WAR BONDs MARKET<span style='color:blue'><---- this could be worded better but my brain wont let me that is how it came out from the brainstorm and I cant change it many other things I had to look up..?</span>

Yield: 8.959% on 1 days <span style='color:blue'><---this percentage is based from the public markets and attacks toggled, a raw percentage is taken from the pub market and a attack counter. A comparator is used to adjust the scale the percentage is based from we can start the scale @ 0 relative to -/+ that way the the bonds could dip and swing below 0% rather than an increase, i.e.: if in the last 2 days of the set the wars where hot...! Then my bonds would be low so I would “buy buy buy ..if the wars where slow the last 2 days then sell high like a mad man</span>

<span style='color:blue'>If all bonds are owned then each additional attack on the attack log toggles the creation of another 5 stocks & 2 bonds per attack. From reset empires are born with 10 bonds and 25 stocks,( cannot be bought or sold in protection), the new stocks and bonds will rise as soon as peeps leave protection like an everlasting gobstopper so long as there is war there is new stocks and bonds available for purchase.

how the game code figures the price fluctuation of stocks and bonds
Stocks % = forces owned / sold / cash B/S/C= Footmen bought 185,365,478 divide by sold 3,662,541,411 divide by total cash of sale $1,831,270,705,500 = 2.763%

Bonds / public market P/T/O= going market price for bonds $ 500 divide by total days @ that price if sold would be worth $3,662,541,411 divide by total "troops" owned 36,978,230 =3.692%</span>

my intentions are to use this methode for our game improvments BUT; if your team can use any or part of this GO FOR IT ...:)
I wrote it and I will hold no copytwrite to it, I am a prom junky and all my ideas whether implemented here or afar, it makes no never mind to me as long as we promisance junkies can benifit from it...:)

Wow, that's pretty detailed. I'll have to pore over it a bit later and see how much of the stocks code could be reused for your idea.

The idea of baseing stock prefomrance on market activity seems intresting... Although that would better modeled with some sort of futuers market. In fact, your stock model works almost perfectly for a futuers market. All that would need to be done is to tie the futers value into the base price of each unit. And the creation of the said futuers would have to be controlled by the player directly.

I would base bond yeild on rank, or relative netowrth, or land, or some combinition thereof. The risk with bonds is that the warband will be either a) dead or B) unable to pay up by maturation. So, the higher the rank, and/or other factors are, the lower the yeild, as people would supposidly be more willing to invest in something that is less likely to die. Lower the rank, higher the yeild, as something must justify the higher risk. Where this gets intresting is where the warband that issued the bond changes it's situation before the bond matures. Suppose the emperor issues a bunch of bonds, then gets hit badly. The yeild is set when you bought the bond, but there is now a higher risk of the warband dieing before. This pushes the overall value of the bond, should you want to sell it, downward. If the oppsite occures, then the overall value of the bond skyrockets, should you want to sell it (the latter is an example of junk bonds, btw). And, once again put the player into controll of when to issue bonds, even if the rate is set automaticly.

I also have an issue with punctuation so please if my punc is wrong re-read it...:)

A futures situation came into it also but...I couldn’t figure an easy way through it <span style='color:blue'>(Lack of market understanding)</span>
I did however do a bit of stock and bond research but I still don’t understand it all.

Tracking Rise and Fall of War Bonds I thought would be best speculated from past public market performances, averaging the sales & purchases and a cross checking for market spikes <span style='color:blue'>(protecting the bond market from controlled spiking at maturity).
</span>If users are at war then more pub market sales would be seen (dropping troop/grains networth) consequently mass purchases of troops would also occur <span style='color:blue'>(covering the land grabs)</span>.
If your bonds are not at maturity and you decide to sell them because your recent activity ran you short of cash,
it would then be redeemed as a <span style='color:blue'> (junk bond)</span> at a really high penalty.
You may gain a few bucks but the potential for a higher yield would be from waiting for maturity.

far fetched example
If say 24 out of 100 users sold all of their bonds back to the middle man the networth of held bonds would then go up! because there are less bonds in private hands.
Therefore all the bonds currently in users possession that do in fact mature in the next 3 days would enjoy a larger maturity share for that period.
I also thought there should be some sort of a delay to the bond and stock net increase that’s why a 3 day system it could be stretched out over 4 or 5 days, then an empire couldn’t redeem them prematurely or abuse the code by planning his attacks and selling his bonds some time after his clans attacks.

Does this make any sense….?

I don’t know a bloody thing about PhP code....If I did… I would be helping to code this…. hehe
But I can sure dream up some crazy schniz
