To me the most important aspect is the moral aspect - re-create a clan and keep the tag. It avoids all those 'Blah 2' clans. But yes, a hidden cache suddenly discovered in your treasury, I suppose, can really make your day.
What I'm afraid of is that this might be exploited for easy aiding - although the 72 hour rule says against... it's important to thresh out the idea though.

One thing for keeping the treasury data is it allows for "Vigilante" playing - I know there have been times where it is just me against a more powerful clan or group of players... I would always store my resources in the Treasury when I wasn't taking turns so as to avoid them being taken. Allowing a Vigilante player to resurrect his/her resources (in a manner of speaking) aids that style of play.
