Pre-cron.
They have quite some complaints about the game on the forums, for example involving passwords.

Yeah, older versions of FAF didn't work well where we couldn't fix bugs when they popped up. :P

But, we should probably look into that lockdb cronless bug.

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

Hi guys. I have been meaning to stop by and say hi for a few weeks now. I run the games at the site above. We don't have very many players but those who do play like the game very much. I'm not sure what version we are running, 2.0 it says in the config.php. I know that I was suprised that I didn't have to setup any crons in order to get the game running, which I know is not that way in the original game. This version is by far the best that I have ever come across. I had been searching for a few months for a version of promisance that actually worked :)

Hi turock! Thank you for your comments. It's nice to be appreciated. :)
By the way, I like the Server Info page you set up below login. We had been meaning to do something similar, so hope you don't mind if we copy the idea.

Also, on Jan. 10 we will release version 2.5, which fixes some bugs and introduces a new Guide plus some visual themes. Thanks for dropping by.

Feel free to copy or use whatever ideas you want.

Will the new version have anything major that is different? Line an new admin.php :) It would be nice to be able to login to the admin account and be able to edit user data, etc all from within the game.

Also we ran into a situation where players could do magic recruit and/or magic cashing and thier networth would skyrocket into the billions in only a few hundred turns. I wish that I could find the email that I had from one of my moderators as it had a detailed explanation. I will try and find out more info from him and pass it along.

Ah yes, that's one of the bugs that has been fixed.

It's always best to keep up with our latest version just for the bugfixes.

An admin menu to edit /certain/ player data (to avoid potential abuse) is under consideration, but I can tell you it won't be done by the 10th.

So, I added the Server Info page today. You can access it by clicking the server names on the left-hand menu. It displays the end of a round as a string which it tries to parse from English, falling back to the string itself if that fails.

Hey that looks cool! I was going to make a nice table and add some stats from each game to mine, but never got around to it.

BTW, you can specify a 'Game Acronym' in the config.php file (gamename_short) to avoid the title looking like ":: Login".
