Hey, I just thought I would share my some of my recent/not so recent metal band discoveries. For all of you who don't know (I don't believe that I have ever shared my metal music taste on here before) I am a big metal fan. Now before any of you go start trashing my taste I would like you to check out a few of the bands I have listed.

Dream Theater - My all time favorite metal band. They are an incredibly talented band with several high quality albums out. In particular I recommend Scenes from a Memory and Octivarium (their newest album).

Sonata Arctica - A Finish (think Finland) Band with some good talent and just overall quality music.

Kamelot
- I discovered this band about a week ago and have been enjoying them immensely ever since. I also enjoy it that they have a quality singer with a deeper voice, its a nice change. My favorite albums so far are The Black Halo and Karma.

Stratovarius- My newest metal discovery they are overall just an awesome band. They have several great songs with absolutely amazing intros. My favorite songs by them as of now are: Black Diamond, Maniac Dance, and Hunting High and Low.

There are also two band I would like to give honorable mention to; namely Elvenking and Aeryon.

Rush, Muse, and The Clash are the closest I ever get to "metal".

I've got no Who in my collection. Or Led Zeppelin.

Is Jimi metal?!

No Who?? !!??

Wow, are you missing out. We shall have to rectify that when tokaj stops observing MLK day and goes back on Tuesday... ;)

Anyways, people call Led Zep heavy metal precursor. I don't see why Jimi's not the same category? All Along the Watchtower, Voodo Chile, etc. Not that he didn't do other stuff, but he was the first artist to truly exploit distortion and the wah-wah pedal. (Not that I know much about music, but enought to know that.)
