Go to http://faf.staronesw.com/faf.zip , and use that version. From the sound of it, you have an ancient one. You shouldn't need to set crons at all.

No, with the latest version all crons have been replaced. All you should need to do is edit config.php.

It works perfectly for me, although I confess I didn't understand your last post. BTW, 4 topics for the same problem? Man you're impatient.

Now change the default password! I was able to log in to the admin account. Come on, it says in the damn README to change it, so change it already!

He is seeing the same problem I was talking to you about Beatles, with the menus. The clearing browser cache had no effect.

But I tell you I did not have the same problem. Not on your server, not on mine.

*snaps fingers*
I know what might be causing it, not sure though. Wait a sec.

[edit] OK, try this -- set $tpl->caching = false in index.php, near where it checks if it's on faf.staronesw.com. That was there for performance reasons.

You are the man Beatles! Works like a champ.

Changes:
//Disable caching for ourselves, but enable it for those who download our game:
//if($config['sitedir'] == 'http://faf.staronesw.com/')
$tpl->caching = false;
//else
// $tpl->caching = true;
$tpl->compile_dir = './cache/templates/';

This could easily be made a config option by setting say $config['template_cache'] = 0;

Then:
//Disable caching for ourselves, but enable it for those who download our game:
if($config['sitedir'] == 'http://faf.staronesw.com/' || $config['template_cache'] == 0)
$tpl->caching = false;
else
$tpl->caching = true;

Great! I'll fix it and upload the release as soon as our host fixes the issue they have when I try to ssh in from my laptop. It's no trouble when I try to ssh in from somewhere else, very weird.

New archive at sourceforge doesn't have the template caching fix.
