In recent topic, we have talked about new deveolpment ideas about the game. How it should be balanced and generally more enjoyable. If and when the market storing strat and stocks hording is removed, what kind of military are you going to promote...
With 30k land, one cannot support a very large army at all. Due to the fact that you must make enough food, barracks and money to hold on to them.
I just felt that this needed to be addressed.

What size military? A supportable one. The name of the game is NW, not army size. NW is the goal, army is the means, or one of the means.
So, if you're able to accomplish NW with a small army and a large amount of food, go right ahead. Just be prepared to be farmed.
If a large army is how you get your NW, good for you. Your troops will provide more NW then that farmer over there, and you'll be in a perfect position to sack him like crazy to gain NW.

Market storing is going to be eliminated? Why? One of the reasons I disliked the RWL code so much is cause you couldn't store diddly on the flappin market.
I (no big-headedness intended) more than likely would find a way to do so without losing too many troops due to troop selling, etc.. But could the average player that found a way to produce the largest army he's ever seen could not.
IF they stumbled upon a huge landsource and built Barracks, I see why they would not have a significant military. I find Indy being the hardest strat to do, because of cash loss.
Nevermind...This reminds me back to the days when we had our biggest paintball wars. (3 Years) Ironically, FAF opperates very close to this. The combined area that we considered to be "disputed" was nearly 30 acres. How much land you owned determinded how many units we could have. Meh..Networth really doesn't mean a thing if you can't back it up with force.

No, networth means everything. It doesn't matter how you get that networth, it matters how high it is. If you can pull it off by peaceful means, great. If you pull it off by smashing people, great too.
Urran: 25% would give you enough space to store some troops. As for the new players, no, they should have that big of an army. Your army size should be determined by your skill.
That's my big gripe against market storing. It lets people with little or no skill take the top.

I don't know of any situation where that would happen... except my increadibley flawed idea for troop NWs.
More likely is a lot of net but no power, either from having food/cash (which does give you power, because you can bribe people, or buy troops, etc) or so many troops that you can't support them for even 1 run (1 bil net on 50k land, for example.)

Market storing eliminates the (minimal) economic factor in managing your Warband. Addationally, it tilts the game heavily in favor of offence by allowing those with weak defence (troops on market, instead of defending) to sustain massive offencive forces.
