Apparently in Internet Explorer 7, every address you type into your URL bar (save a static list of "good addresses", with all certainty diminutive) is sent to Microsoft's servers for checking (whether it's a phishing website). If you set up IE7 on XP, you will be prompted about this behavior. If, however, you install a Vista build, apparently, this feature is on by default.

While I'll reserved judgement until Vista is actually shipped, I have an idea this might be a really nasty thing.

hell, mine broke. They'll give me one for free? sure! I'll just wipe all that stuff that comes on it

meh. google logs your searches already, I'm sure everywhere I go is logged on the campus server

microsoft will more than likely use the data to improve their search engine (trying despratly to beat google), other than that what can they do with it?
