first off, i am going to be gone for 4 days or so...the ocean is calling my name...
my BFR account is frozen, or will be after that ridiculous 12 hours overbite.

anyways, the question is have is this and maybe i can start a rebellion...but i seriously doubt it...

...why does there have to be a penalty for when you pull troops in and out of the market?? i can understand a sort of "tax". but this is extreme. it seems to me that the changes made to BFR recently, this is one change that wasnt considered and needs to be looked at seriously.

now thank you all!

The commission is there in able to hurt market storing, and prevent people from jumping to the top with insanely high nets. If it goes anywhere, it'll be up, not down. We need to decrease max amount of troops to about 25%, and increase commission to, say, 50%.

People shouldn't be able to market store troops because it

A: Allows people to insane NWs without supporting them, leading to emperors who have to be taken down with a pile of murders, rather then by normal fighting; and

B: It allows people of minimal skill to take emp. Any idiot can market store, all you need to do is learn how to indy, and then pack troops onto the market. It should take skill to take emp, not easy market storing.

A) alright. mass producing. right. now, maybe if you put a lock on the troops that peeps put into the Market then they wouldnt be able to pull them out for a week or so. but, who freaking cares?? if it is in a "clan market" then the "clan" supports it as a whole. that would work eh?

B)it does take minimal skill to emp however, so what?!?! my goal isnt ever to win or to be the emperor. nay! my skill is to mass and play and pillage!!

i say! REVOLT agianst the tryannical Rudder and Beatles and even Daisy head Devari!!!

A: What good would a time lock do? People could just wait a week, then pull their troops for an emp jump. What we need to do, actually, is limit the number of troops you can put on. In fact, if we limit it to, say, 20%, we might be able to do away with the commission altogether.

This would allow people to store troops in reserve, without the problem massive net jumps.

B: The point is, it shouldn't take minimal skill to emp. It should take maximum skill. It should be something few players ever reach, not something any old bum can pull off.

Or young bum, for that matter...

But yes, there was a discussion of a lower maximum earlier, with a lowered commission. Anyone care to find it again?

I think that was spread over several topics... I'll make a new topic about it in Suggestions and Bugs, if you'd like.

hmm..................................

fine Mr. Beatles...you wanna poll? i will make it as soon as i come back from Ze Beach! :P

neobaron: eat me.

Rudder: fine. make it a "reserve" component instead of a "Market" component. who has ever heard of selling troops on a freaking market?!!?!? now for REsERVes, that is a all round great idea!
you see, reserves, national guard, whatever: are a vital part to any military! but!
a freakin tax on em, yes i will ever call it a tax!, is ridiculous. any attrition should be called either desertion or AWOL. *laughs*.

screw it.

one more post in the morning then im off to EDISTO!!!!!!!!! WWOOOOoooOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why not just make it so troops on the market are still contained within the warband, and thus can be used until they are sold. That eliminates market storing completely.

The only problem is that that eliminates all ability to use storing as a reserve system, some sort of "national guard", like Kraken was said.

I would limit storing to 20 - 25%, and kill the comission. This would allow people to stash away a few troops as a guard, but prevent store-store-store-jump strats.
