A Holiday much needed...
So? We just introduce an actual proper reserve system. Possible to store, say, 20% of your total army, and you pay half or quarter upkeep on them. The current "reserve" system puts those who do not know about the trick at a great disadvantage when vying for the top.

Well, let's get to work on that, then... I'd go for 1/4 upkeep, storing 20 - 25%. No commision. 6 hour delay between going into reserve and being ready to come out, to prevent people from sticking troops on the reserves for their run, then pulling them out again.
Sound good?

Yup, sounds good to me. I'm guessing this is what you said, but to make it clear: it takes 6 hours to place troops in reserve, and 6 hours for them to be recalled. That right?

Actually, I was thinking six hours to go into reserve, and then they can be pulled out instantly. Unrealistic, but more practical then the other way around - otherwise, people have to plan 6 hours ahead of when they'll need these troops.

No, that does make sense. I'd prefer the 6 hour wait both ways (makes one think ahead a bit more), but I'll certainly go with your way if that's what we all want.

well kraken has a point if you wanna play with no troops on the market all out you can but if u wanna play with troops on the market and not out it sould not matter just because some stupid people think aw i ws top but he was jumped at the very end. sooooooo how cars he has still massed more troops that you.
so i think you sould not make it so you lose as many troops as you do when you pull the market.

You have no idea of game blanance, do you, gondor? I've stated over and over why market storing needs to be prevented, yet you fail to grasp it. Because it makes the game unfair, creates poor emps, and allows those with little skill to achive high rank.
And it could be said the stupid people are the people like you who say: "Waaah, I'll never be able to take a high rank by supporting my troops, so I'll stick them all on the market where they don't cost me anything, then pull them out and pass the guy who's much more skilled them me and able to support a much higher net."

How about make it so that people can put as many troops on the market as they want but 20% get shoved on the market and the other 80% stays out for use until they are sold?Devari wrote: Why not just make it so troops on the market are still contained within the warband, and thus can be used until they are sold. That eliminates market storing completely.
But it's not a legit strat, really. It's only accessible if you know the trick, so it really isn't open to everyone. By shifting to a system where any kind of reserves are completely transparent, it creates a more legit environment for troop storing to occur in.

Which is an important difference, no? Why should you be able to actually store troops, instead of having to pay at least some upkeep on them?
