Hm... Well, depending on how many dependencies it has, maybe I'll take a look at it... :)

You know what I use mainly, though sometimes I use Opera but it kinda loads too slow since it's not intergrated into Windows...... Firefox on linux is good though

...that you've noticed

statistically it lets in far more adware and spyware
is much less secure in general
butchers some webpages not made specifically for it (firefox, opera, konqi all display the page fine, IE eats it)
has a horrible bookmark system compared to other browsers
looks like crap ^_^

edit: wrongness. I cant use (Profanity is a sign of Maturity) (s h i t) but crap makes it through the wordfilters. bleah

After re-evaluating Epiphany, I've come to the conclusion that it is ugly but awesome.

Really simple, almost painfully so - configuration is practically nonexistant.

But it has my favorite feature, the main reason I use Konqueror.

Speed.

Have you tried Galeon v. Epiphany? Galeon's better IMHO, Epiphany just lacks so many features that are actually useful and needed. At least, a version I tried a year ago...

Features are lacking a bit, yes. But, on the flipside, it certainly feels at least a bit faster than Galeon, and MUCH faster than Firefox. epiphany-extensions is surprisingly nice, if you like the settings they give you. The nice thing is that the extensions don't slow down the browser, like in Firefox.

Amazing how the same rendering engine can give such vastly different performance.

I'm probably still sticking with Konqueror, but Epiphany certainly is nice.

I've also learned that that Browser Speed Comparisons thingy is full of it. Epiphany isn't spectacular on benchmarks, but I know speed when I see it. Firefox has nothing on it.

I had a MASSIVE bug with Galeon. Whenever I typed "/" into the location bar, the program locked up. Problem was, it had "stolen" all X input, and I couldn't kill it - I had to ctrl-alt-backspace and kill X itself.

The second part didn't happen if I ran from a terminal or yakuake, but that's pretty clumsy. But it ALWAYS locked up when trying to look at the local filesystem.

that might just be you Devari ;)

my Galeon 2.0.1 redirects a / to file:///
and displays the contents of / just fine

and I'll take a speed hit for a good ui, which is what firefox has

It might have something to do with missing GNOME libs. I've uninstalled all of 'em that I can without breaking dependencies.
