The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

As for your question, those are four types of troops. Basically,
Light troops: (Come cheap, die quick, low Attack/Defense).
Ranged troops: (Slightly slower to come, and slower to die. Low attack, high defense)
Heavy Troops: (Come reasonably slow, also die reasonabley slow. Medium attack, medium defense. Biased slightly to the attack)
Ships: (Come slow, die slow. High attack/defense, biased slightly towards attack. Also used for sending aid.)
Each race has it's own names for the troop types.
