I just got it and am looking for friends/a clan. I doubt any of you have it, but I might as well try.

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

It's just like any other RPG... I'm sure you know, but for anyone that doesn't, here you go. Guild Wars is an MMORPG like World of Warcraft with normal fantasy stuff. The best thing is that there's no monthy fee. As with all online games, it's funner with friends but you can play on your own as well and do quests. A big part of the game is guilds (duh) which you can join/form. There is a guild ladder (ranking system) and there are Player vs Player/Guild vs. Guild battles. I've only played for a couple hours, but that's the basis.

It's completely free after you buy the game. I bought it new for $40 but I'm sure you can get it cheaper if you try. I dunno how they do it either. XD The PvP is awesome too.

And that's pretty sweet, Scar. XD

Thank God someone has a MMORPG that you don't have to pay per month. I think I'm gonna go buy it, just so they will be more likely to do it again with their next game.

I've always looked at this in much the same way I look at women. Probably because my mind is completely warped, twisted, in the gutter, and focused on women but nevermind that. A game like Guild Wars is like a hooker, you pay her, she performs a service, everyone's happy end of story. A game like UO is more like a wife, not only do you have to pay her upfront, you have to constantly pay her for as long as you keep her around. The services she provides are no better, but they are slightly different in that you don't need protection (a definate plus) but she's not usually as skilled. I guess you could say the services are seperate but equal.

Anyway, if given the choice between getting married and getting a hooker I won't hesitate long in deciding that one. I'll give a bright shiny nickel to anyone who can guess what I'd choose :P

EDIT: After reading what I posted I am beginning to see what my friends/family/coworkers have been saying all along: I can take a subject, no matter how innocent, and turn it into something less than innocent without even intending to.

I guess I'm a prime example of why you should never try to shelter your kids.

That;s right Kraky, keep em under a rock. In fact, if they want to have a friend come over and play I'd have an interview with the friends entire family, then *if* they pass the interview allow the kid to come over but supervise the entire thing. No TV unless it's G rated, and only 10 minutes of that per day. Check their rooms regularly, and don't mis out on an oppurtunity to read your daughters' diaries everyday. Afterall, nothing to hide nothing to fear, it shouldn't bother them.

At the very least send them to a private school, but if you can do it then homeschooling is definately the way to go. A minimum of 12 hours per week should be spent in a church to. Hey, if it worked for Ozzie Osbourne, Alister Crowley, Eddie Gein, and hundreds of other success stories it can work for your kids :)

The trick to the whole thing is to remember that kids arn't very curious, and people love to be forced, so as long as you keep them from knowing of anything immoral, they will never want to even bother thinking about it when they are older.

Speaking of rocks and wanting to vomit, about 5 minutes ago I saw a clip from a movie called Cannibal Holocaust. All I can say is it seems like a rather graphic film, and do not let any kids or people with weak stomachs view it.

I heard that it got an X rating in the US (not a porno thogh) and interestingly enough it was the inspiration for the film The Blair Witch Project.

Right wing Pansy. Aint you got any elections to rig, jobs you can outsource to B.F.E., tax dollars you can waste, wars you can instigate then profiteer from, ports you can sell to our enemies, lawyers to shoot, uhhh actually shooting the lawyer wasn't terrible. A good start anyway ;)
