Right, Well I have finally gotten DSL, but the router will be away from where I get on my laptop at night. So until I get Wifi going in my house, my around time will be limited to the day. And this laptop needs PC cards because it is old. So I might be out for a while, as I have to contemplate if late night interweb is worth more than a Nintendo Wii.

I'm not disappearing, I'm just changing my hours for now.

if you ever plan to put a different firmware on it, you'll prob. need the other version (more ram) (or you can track down an older version of the wrt54g.. linksys went and cut back on the ram about a year ago (?))

I love my linksys wrt54gs.. lots of free firmware out for it and the wrt54g.. I use DD-WRT, which is allowing me to use it as a wireless card (home for the summer and desktop is in a far corner, parent's router, also a wrt54gs, is broadcasting)

buy.com has free shipping for orders over 25, and fair prices for orders under.. I've used them for years, no issues. newegg is very good as well..

the Wii is est. to cost ~200.. if your folks are buying the router 8 bucks for a card isnt bad (btw, almost all wireless G routers support B as well, its just slightly slower) if not.. 48? not as bad as retail, and about the price of one, maybe 1.5 games..

retail can be costly

the linksys router (wrt54g) retails for 69.99, which is what most retail stores will sell it at.. a significant difference between that and 39.99..

ebay can also be a halfway decent place to check, but occasionally ebay prices match or exceed retail once you add in shipping

oh. and I only list linksys products because that's what I'm familure with.. decent prices and I've never had issues with my stuff.. if anyone prefers dlink, netgear, belkin, etc...

Well...I'm not gonna get to play on a Wii for a while now. I just dropped like $115.64 on a router and PC card for my desktop.

Now I just need the DSL.

Linksys Wireless-G. I'm currently on wireless virtually all the time now I have a laptop

. I have had 3 routers so far and Linksys are by far the bet I can tell you that now (Then again what can you expect, linksys is a devision of Cisco Systems

Look, I like Nintendo as much as the next guy, but we all know that Microsoft is steadily eating up every other systems' market share. And really, the controller on the Wii is just way too phallic.

Besides, the PS3 will totally pwn all. *laughs*.

PS3.. heh. methinks sony screwed up with it.. wayy too costly, just build a gaming computer and be done with it.. games are generally cheaper for pc anyways

nintendo made sure people would be talking about their new console, even if they had to call it the wii to do so. eventually you get used to it, and it doesnt sound as stupid..
however, the "I'm going to go pull out my wii" etc. jokes will probably be around for a while

emulation of older games will be spiffy. it may be the first console I buy

my brother (amoraq for thoes who remeber) has an xbox 360.. its nice.. I guess.

oh. you could have saved by about half by buying online freen

I'm assuming you didnt, as you dropped 115.. ah well.. save shipping time if you buy retail I guess
