The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.
If you go down to the woods today, you better not go alone
It's a lovely day in the woods today, but safer to stay at home

WTF? You're in the military and you don't know what the 4th of July was for? the 4th is celebrating our DoI, celebrating us spanking those English pukes should be done on September 3rd. Well, everyday is a good day to point it out to them but September 3rd is the anniversary of those pansies caving in to our demands.
BBQ, babes, and beer, what could possibly be more American?
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Good Lord. www.wikipedia.com <::: check that out, Mr. Patriotic. The DoI was way before we whipped them. When the DoI was issued we were nowhere near beating them. 7+ years after the DoI the war finally ended.

Not English, technically, but English, Welsh, and Scottish. So in a word, British.
(BTW, whoever wrote the Declaration of Independence was not very well up in current affairs. The grievances should have been against Parliament, not George III. Constitutional monarchy, remember? Pitt the Elder ring any bells?)
No, they didn't. I'm just saying that the document has some vestigial incorrectness in that respect.
Pitt the Elder, by the way, was a prime minister who was opposed to Parliament's policies and wanted more liberty for the colonies. But Parliament wouldn't hear of it.
Hey Beatles, have you ever heard of the tiny country we annexed in New England? I don't remember the specifics but Canada arrested a citizen of that country (I think it was called xxxx Creek) over something minor and those guys invaded Canada to free the arrested. It created a bit of a stir because Britain didn't want to retaliate and risk another war with America (this was shortly after the Monroe Doctrine came about) so they quickly backed out of it. Not too long after that country voted to become annexed by the US to further insure their security.
The country in question consisted of 2-300 people and was located in New England on the border between Canada and America. I wish I knew the exact name of it so I could post a link, it's an interesting story.

Wow, sounds really interesting. No, I haven't heard of it.
Do you think America is kind of passing on the flame of liberty these days? It passed from Britain to America -- well, more or less, disregarding slavery -- with the Declaration of Independence, but now bot the UK and the US have scary measures in place. So where is it going next? Canada?
Are we talking civil liberties within the country? If so I'd say there's a few countries with potential, Canada, Australia (I've always viewed them as a "younger" US) Switzerland, Vatican City (well not quite yet, but just as soon as hell freezes over they will be) probably a few I'm missing.
