Incentive-based voting... hmm.

Well, it's a dirty concept, but! We have nothing to lose at this point.

I'll see about setting it up next week, and I'll disable it for WOA and Duels. Then for that thing we've been discussing in the Lunch.

Well...The least we can do it vote for ME... Hopefully People will come over here from there. And of course, if/when we get on that site, we can vote for outselves. If ME and FaF link up to bring players here (and there), then the effort will require 1/2 as much effort. Everyone profits.

Is more advertising the key? Or maybe we need some kind of special draw...?

We removed personal war didn't we? And we've attempted to cut down on the kills. But it makes the game less fun I think, in some ways at least. But I like the incentive based voting idea. And perhaps more than one site like that? Imperia has 15 or so. Not suggesting we should have that many, but maybe like 5 that give 5 extra turns each. Most of them you can only vote once every 24 hours.

Oh, and I had an idea about how to deal with ghost clanning and people leaving to attack and then rejoining. If you leave a clan, or are booted fomr one, you can't rejoin any clan or make a new one for 72 hours. Don't know how to deal with booting though. If we take that option away, people will be able to join a clan and clean out the treasury or do other bad things and the leader won't be able to stop him.

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

We'll just stick the stinkey cheese on the back burner for now.

Individual war is gone. Which is a good thing.

And 5 ad sites would be good.

The 72-hour ban is a good idea.

Another thing that I STRONGLY recommend is that the footer that gets displayed at the bottom of most pages:

Frost And Flame 3.0 - by Beatles, Veranor, Devari, Nevadacow
Full Credits · License · Source

The Frost And Flame 3.0 part should be a link back to your site! ;)

And the 72 hour ban/waiting period would be so cool to have and prevent clan jumping.

Valhall recently implemented a variation of that rule (only booted empires have the 72 hour no rejoin) and they have always had 72 hours of unlimited hits on any empire booted from a clan. The unlimited hit rule was implemented to prevent empires from tagging up, hitting a bunch of people and leaving the clan to keep a hit limit. It also allowed a clan to kill a member if the situation required it, but it was primarily used to prevent clan jumping.

The 72 hour wait to rejoin a clan was done to prevent landpassing within a clan. Prior to that a clan would have an indy scrape up a bunch of land, then he would sell all of one troop type , leave the clan, and one of his clanmates would hit him. The entire clan would run one right after the other. It became so efficient that it really had to be stopped. The last set before the rule was implemented a 3 man clan would start a run with a total clan net of 250 mil or so (very roughly, my memory sucks) and by the end of the run they would have an empire pillaging the top player in the game. There pillage is similiar to sacking except it requires you to have double the troops needed for a STD attack, it takes cash and grains, and it destroys some building but it does not take land. At the time the top player was well over a billion net, and they were in the present which has the best defense in the game.

If a good solo player made a billion net in the first 3 weeks of the set they were as happy as can be. But a single clan could just decimate that and ruin their entire set in one run, and if that's allowed to continue it ruins the game for a lot of people.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Funny, we just had the land passing problem on our server as well. The 72 hour wait would solve that. I also like the unlimited hits on booted empires. Sweet revenge if needed :P

Exactly why I suggested it. (And it's an orginal idea of mine, or at least I did not take it from anyone, can't say where the Valhall guys got it, it dates back to a development forum post on RWL.) The unlimited hits is a good idea as well.

Well, one way to solve that would be to have booting not actually boot you from the clan but set a 72-hour timer on you. During that time you would not be able to access any clan functions at all (including leaving of your own accord), but the leader could elect to bring you back. So you'd get all the advantages (unlimited hits, join no other clans, can't access clan stuff) without much conceptual or code reworking.
