This is the second instance of me understanding Beatles lyrics written 40 years ago after listening to them 50 times...
http://www.lyricsdomain.com/2/beatles/taxman.html

Mr. Wilson and Mr. Heath were the respective leaders of the Conservative and Labour parties when the song was written, in 1965. Mr. Wilson was the current Prime Minister (Heath followed him in 1970).

I'd heard the song hundreds of times, but had an even smaller grasp on history than today, so listening to it now, two familiar names in succession struck me.

..."I'm sorry, but I really can't see anything redeeming in your philosophy other than that dinosaurs are cute."
~Beatles

The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

trippy :)

I have run across several songs, I thought worded utterly different than they really are, or meant something entirely different.

how about:
don’t go out tonight, he’s gonna take your life, there's a bathroom on the right...!

and lets not forget about missed meaning, who'd a thunk it?

took a bus to LA, shaved his legs on the way n he was a she, she said take a walk on the wild side...!

I didn’t get that one until I was 30

joe joe sits at home and does HIS pretty face an in the evening SHE's a singer with the band...!

took me 25 years to stop and actually listen to the words.
tu voulez assassiner moi pour terre crotte, quand tu être tel chiffre de quelqu'un.
ponier de feut
If you want to make enemies, try to change something.
President Woodrow Wilson

War is like 'Hide n seek' when your found your usualy killed, you best be realy good at it, you only get to play once

It is fatal to enter any war without the will to win it.
General Douglas MacArthur

Plato
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

http://www.stevesbeatles.com/cds/anthology_3.asp#11 (not the greatest source, but none of the lyric depos are)
"Molly stays at home and does her pretty face
and in the evening she's a singer with the band"
unless there is a similar song with the same line...?

CCR isnt the easiest band to decypher lyrics, but still = P
http://www.lyricsfreak.com/c/creedence+clearwater+revival/bad+moon+rising_20034328.html
"Dont go around tonight,
Well, its bound to take your life,
Theres a bad moon on the rise."

closer on this one

"Holly came from Miami, F.L.A.
Hitchhiked her way across the U.S.A.
Plucked her eyebrows on the way,
Shaved her legs & then he was a she, she said
Hey babe, take a walk on the wild side,
Hey honey, take a walk on the wild side"

yeah.... it was late, my brain fell out.

it's Desmond any way where the heck I got joe joe I'lll never know

but yes.... they do switch places at the end of the song
http://www.beatlefans.com/lyrics/obladi.htm
In a couple of years they have built
A home sweet home
With a couple of kids running in the yard
Of Desmond and Molly Jones

<span style='color:blue'>insert: ha ha ha ha ha</span>
they didnt include the laughs hmmmm?

Happy ever after in the market place
Molly lets the children lend a hand
Desmond stays at home and does his pretty face
And in the evening she's a singer with the band

Chorus: And if you want some fun-take Obladi Oblada
~~~~~~~~~~`
but CCR however 'he's gonna take your life' thats the way we sing it on stage...
yeah... yeah... 'thats it! FLA' I coudnt remember and was posting by memory to show how screwed up ears can be........ *laughs*
