The basic problem, of course, is that terrorists cannot be fought with war. "War on Terrorism" is an oxymoron, just as the "War on Drugs" is. Practically the only thing that can be done is to have effective law enforcement and try to work with people on their problems. Of course, none of this is new or original.

The explosion is from the peroxide. And the peroxide was seperated from the drink by some type of a barrier (haven't heard specifics on what form of barrier was used) so they would just be drinking pure Gatorade with the peroxide occupying the bottom portion of the bottle.Gen. Volkov wrote: Actually, it wouldn't matter, because the explosion would kill them before the peroxide had time to kill them. And Peroxide is soluble in water, or Gatorade, so it would poison them if they drank out of the bottle. And I know H2O2 is highly unstable at higher concentrations. That's why they tell you not to smoke in chem lab. (Among other reasons)
Disposable cameras eh? Clever.
Beatles: I agree with you whole heartedly.
I know the voices in my head arn't real but they usually have some pretty good ideas.

Ah, I see. And then they just remove the barrier when it's time to detonate. Ingenious. Of course I have a better idea, but then, I'm not a terrorist, and I don't want any terrorists reading this and getting ideas. If you wanna hear my idea, PM me.
If terrorism were solely the product of societal conditions, we'd see alot more African terrorists attacking America. True they have genocidal wars, and petty warlords and whatnot, but that's different from a guy running into the middle of a crowded market place with a bunch of explosives strapped to his chest. There's some extra element to the Middle East culture that we, as Europeans, or those of us who are of European descent/culture just cannot fundamentally grasp. Just as we could never fully understand what motivated the Japanese kamikazes. Oh we have our pet answers, "they did for their emperor" or "they were mislead and indoctrinated" but it's still almost impossible for us to imagine driving ones plane into the deck of a ship. It's been done by Europeans, and those of European descent. The Germans did it in WW2. But it never got the resources and attention lavished on it like the kamikazes got. At one point the Germans were going to send up 850 Me 109's to ram our B-17's, but only 65 ever lifted off. Compared to the 1500 planes sent off by the Japanese during the first WAVE of Operation Floating Chyrsanthemum (sp?). And the subsequent waves, while smaller, weren't alot smaller. When we do it (refering to European-types here again) it's usually small scale, on an individual basis and done to save alot of men. We even hope to live though it The Japanese did it en masse, with no one turning away, expecting to die, for almost no appreciable result. That's the sort of cultural difference I'm talking about. You can change the conditions, but unless you change the culture with it, it won't stop it, just lessen it some.
The same thing happened in Japan, when America kicked her butt, there was a both a major upheaval in living conditions and major social/cultural upheaval. That's what forced the change to the modern democratic nation we see today.
I'm not saying we should go invade the entire middle east, there are more peaceful ways to change a culture, but for any real change to occur, the culture HAS to change.

There's another solution. We can build a huge wall around the whole place without any exits, make it a no-fly zone for any aircraft including domestic flights, and name this new country "Israel v Palestine" and give them a phone to call us when they've settled their differences.

*laughs*, your an idiot sometimes Beatles. really. Islamic extremism is safe from no one who is or even isnt islamic. wake up. oh, america and uk are the only ones getting buggered around right now. yeah right. Africa is being ripped apart by Islamic rag heads, part of russia and even china is feeling the pain. good grief. The Beatles wrote: Not necessarily. That's just one way out of this mess. The US and UK are prime targets for terrorism because the US supports Israel and the UK supports the US (whatever private deals it might have, that's mostly true as of the Blair era, though not so much before). Quite simple really.

all about FAVRE, come on...you know you want to click it
The Kraken, which is found primarily in Scandinavian myth, was a huge sea creature. It was said to lie at the bottom of the sea for a long time and then it would rest at the surface....Like the Midgard serpent in the Norse myths, the Kraken was supposed to rise to the surface at the end of the world.

There is a great difference though.
The difference between the violence in Africa and the violence here, is that there the conflict is because the Islamic people are already there. But in the US and UK, it's not the resident Islamic population planning attacks. Oh no, it's the Middle Eastern Islamic extremists exporting the war to our shores. And the reason for that is just what I said it is. That you don't get anywhere else.

Well I suppose we could just nuke the whole place and leave it too the roaches, but I don't see much of a way to cure the problem without major changes in living conditions and culture short of that. Unless you want the US to stop supporting Israel...
*laughs* @ your reply to Nuke's comment.
My impression of that phone call:
Secretary: Mr. President, phone for you.
*Pres. picks up phone*
President: Hello?
Gruff voice: Just calling to let you know the war's over.
P: Already?
G: Yup, after we broke out the napalm they pretty much gave up. We have a couple million Palestinians sitting in a prison camps right now who need new homes. Their old ones got flattened by tanks. Did I mention that yet? Yeah, the West Bank is a pile of rubble now. Can you ship them to the US?
P:Uhhhhh.
G: Great, thanks, bye now, we have to tend to the wounded on our side.
Or alternatively:
*International oversight ceases after wall goes up*
*West bank dissapears in nuclear fireball 30 seconds later*
*Western world says "Whadda huh?????????"*
*US says "Crud, I knew we shouldn't have given them those nukes"*
That was funnier to write than to read... meh.
