It's just what I remembered, I could be wrong.

'Course, I don't agree with all tenets of socialism, or any form of current government really. That would be really surprising. Just with the basic tenets.

Eh? I was talking to Freen.

'Course I know about your politcal beliefs. Well, I could outline what you've talked about them here anyway, which is probably most of them.

[edit]Ohh, I see where the confusion stemmed from. When I said "another", I didn't mean to say as "a second, besides me", but "yet another to join our growing ranks". :D

Have you read some of Wodehouse's "Psmith" stories? Delightful.

I remade my stats to something more realistic. I just used 10 as a base and -+ as I saw fit.

That's meant to be funny, Rudder, but...

A few days ago I was reading a voter pamphlet in WA state on death tax (estate tax). To disclose my views: I support estate tax, but it can only be implemented a. it applies in all states (else people will just move) and b. the laws applying to corporations cannot be so radically different than those applying to individuals. Since these conditions aren't met in the US, I don't support the estate tax in US states. (Not that I can vote.)

Anyways, the interesting thing. One of the arguments against it was that, I paraphrase but quote: "the estate tax is in the Communist Manifesto, and all tyrannical forms of government such as Communism and Socialism are un-American". Leaving aside the enormous hidden jingoism for a moment, Socialism??? That's not tyrannical by any view but the anarchists'. I view capitalism as more tyrannical than socialism, and libertarianism the ultimate tyranny -- in mob rule.

I spoke to someone about it later, who said that "Socialism is a dirty word only in America". :/

Apologies for the rant. I don't mean to ignite a debate here.

Heh... Your right. The sad thing is that he isn't joking. You say socialist and everyone thinks your a communist freak. Granted I have a Hammer and Sickle flag in my room, but that was a spur of the moment thingy. ($15.00 btw. Made in the USSR, 1978. The tags in Russian.)

Personally, I'm for more government control on nation critical industries. Such as power, garbage collection, ect, things that make the country go round. I mean, Power is a monopoly. I can't choose to have Edison power. I just get Consumers. Infact, they raised power rates here this month. I don't know why. I thought Nuclear power was cheap. *Grins* Oh wait, it sorta is. So why are we paying more?
